First-round draft pick Kendall Marshall was held scoreless while making his NBA Summer League debut for the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday in Las Vegas. Marshall played 28 minutes and 43 seconds. He missed his only shot from the field, contributed five assists and committed five turnovers in an 89-74 loss to the Cavaliers. I was excited, nervous and anxious. It was just a whole bunch of feelings rolled into one, Marshall told Suns.com. Suns coach Dan Majerle said Marshall did fine considering how quickly he was thrust into action after signing a contract on Monday: "He just has to figure out his game. He will learn when he has to shoot, when he has to deliver and when he has to be aggressive.
