DALLAS (AP) --The Dallas Mavericks finally have championship rings for their first NBA title.
Owner Mark Cuban and coach Rick Carlisle presented the diamond-encrusted rings to players before their game Wednesday night. The ring ceremony came exactly a month after they raised the championship banner before the season opener Christmas Day.
NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and seven other current Mavericks who were on last season's team got their rings, as did J.J. Barea and retired guard Peja Stojakovic. Barea now plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the opponent Wednesday night and part of the reason for the ceremony then.
The rings weren't ready for the season opener because Cuban waited until after the NBA lockout so he could confer with players about the design.

Mark Cuban’s Secret To Success
Whenever I think about business, I think of the following Jay-Z line: “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man.” And I’m sure this verse is one of Mark Cuban‘s all-time favorites as well. We’re all out there trying to make it, and some succeed more than others. What does it take to become a [...]
Cuban has a plan; Jones has no clue
The Dallas Mavericks' ongoing season of mediocrity and disappointment confirms a simple truth: As an owner, Mark Cuban is far superior to Jerry Jones.
Riddled in the Mavs' 11-8 record, in Dirk Nowitzki taking an early-season break to get in shape and the less-than-spectacular additions of Lamar Odom, Vince Carter and Delonte West rests the genius of Cuban and the shortcomings...
2011 Dallas Mavericks Championship Rings
The Dallas Mavericks received their championship rings last night and boy are they a thing of beauty. Mark Cuban teamed up with Jostens to create what might be the gaudiest ring ever.
Each one made with 14 K White Gold, 219 Brilliant round diamonds, and 31 Custom cut princess diamonds totaling 10 karats.
I remember Jostens designed our high school class rings. They didn’t look...
2004-era Mark Cuban didn’t think Steve Nash would still be walking at this point
The league churns along, people tend to forget, and rumor turns into legend turns into "fact." I'm sounding like inarticulate grandpa again, wobbling as he gives the Thanksgiving toast, but we needed to be reminded of long-ago lost context from time to time. Which is why it was nice of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to remind us of why, exactly, he declined to spend...
Mavs Get Championship Rings Valued at $40,000 a Pop
These sexy ass rings were given to team members and support staff last night for winning the 2010-11 NBA Championship. The cost to Mark Cuban for these bad boys, which were modeled after the Chicago Blackhawks’ rings from 2010, is about $1.5 million. Not a bad day for that jeweler! The rings include the Mavs’ logo, players’ names and numbers and the 2010-11...
Mavericks putting limit on players' minutes
DALLAS "Lost time," Benjamin Franklin said, "is never found again." In terms of minutes played by stars, much of the rest of the NBA isn't adhering to this philosophy. But the Dallas Mavericks and coach Rick Carlisle apparently share Mr. Franklin's values, which is why on Monday even in winning their seventh straight home game against the Suns, 93-87...
Mavs Welcome Back J.J. Barea To Dallas By Putting A High Chair Near His Locker (Pic)
Diminutive point guard J.J. Barea made his return to Dallas on Wednesday night with his new team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the timing of his visit couldn’t have been much better. Coincidence or not, the night Mavericks owner Mark Cuban scheduled the night that the team would receive their championship rings just happened to coincide [...]
