Miami continued their winning ways last night hosting a rejuvenated Grizzlies team still with the memory of their buzzer beating win over the Eastern powerhouses early in the season.
James and Wade made no mistake of it tonight scoring 27 and 28 points respectively both in far less than average minutes. It was a superb team performance, particularly defensively, holding Memphis to under 40% from the field and just 10% from 3.
Miami’s bench had possibly it’s best game of the season, combining for 36 points, thanks largely to Mike Bibby’s 17 including a perfect 5/5 from deep.
The Heat move to 45 and 21 still a disappointing 2.5 games behind Chicago and Boston who currently share the lead in the Eastern Conference, Chicago having played two extra games on the Celtics.
Miami still have one more game left against Boston, which could determine whether they are able to make a serious run at holding home advantage throughout the Eastern Conference bracket of the playoffs, as it is almost assumed San Antonio take home the best overall record in the NBA.
Nonetheless it’s good to see Miami backing up strong performances.
