Miami Heat ‘Keep or Kick’: Zydrunas Ilgauskas

(When the lockout ends, the Miami Heat will have plenty of personnel decisions to make, on a roster where there are the Big Three and everyone else. This is the eighth in a series of evaluations on those who finished last season on the roster.) Contract status: Under contract for $1.4 million for 2011-12, final year on contract. Case for keeping: Having invoked his 2011-12 option, Ilgauskas already is on the Heat’s books for next season, something that is not the case with Erick Dampier or Jamaal Magloire. And for as much as he has fallen off in recent years, he did have his scoring and rebounding moments last season. Case for kicking: Last season provided to be all-or-nothing with Big Z. Either he was in the starting lineup to space the floor for the team’s Big Three or he was out of sight at the end of the bench, hardly viewed as an option in reserve.
