PLAYERS: Michael Beasley
TEAMS: Phoenix Suns
Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley has converted over 75% of the free throws he has taken in his nearly five-year career, so when he misses more than one or two in a game you can understand why he might be frustrated. During his team’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, Beasley went 3-for-6 from the charity stripe. He was left searching for answers. After missing a couple of free throws pretty badly, Beasley walked toward the rim and stared at it while shaking his head. He later explained himself. “I had to scare the gremlins away,” he said when asked about staring down the rim, via’s Jonathan Dalton. “Those gremlins are always messing with me.” Has somebody been puffing the magic dragon again? As Pro Basketball Talk pointed out, this is not the first time Beasley has had trouble with these so-called gremlins. In fact, he blamed them for some minor free throw struggles back in 2010. “That’s a college job,” Beasley told the Star-Tribune at the time, via A Wo...

Suns forward Michael Beasley blames missed free throws on ‘those gremlins’ (video)

Throughout his multiple stops during his erratic NBA career, current Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley has always been looked upon as a player with untapped potential. He also frequently has been looked upon as something of an oddball, an eccentric man with a lot of talent. That makes Beasley’s recent comments about “gremlins” interfering with his free throw attempts not...

Kevin Durant posterizes Marcin Gorat

Tweet Kevin Durant is one of the top players in the NBA, and again making a run at the MVP award this season as well as delivering highlight-reel plays on a nightly basis. Monday evening Phoenix Suns center Marcin Gortat became a victim of Durant’s wrath on this vicious and-1 dunk: Durant finished the game [...]

Suns unmake history in loss to Bucks

PHOENIX Further evidence of a troubled Phoenix Suns season arrived at U.S. Airways Center on Thursday night when the home team couldn't even defeat the Milwaukee Bucks. OK, so the Bucks (20-18) are pretty decent, by Eastern Conference standards. But we're looking at their slouching in historical context, which tells us that some form of Suns voodoo was preventing the Bucks...

2012-2013 NBA Regular Season: Kevin Durant Dunks On Marcin Gortat

Kevin Durant Takes Marcin Gortat Cornbread With the Dunk (Video)

KD’s hesitation dribble might have been better than the dunk. Woah….

Video: Durant decimates Suns' Gortat

What do you get when you add Thunder's Kevin Durant, Suns' Marcin Gortat, and a clear path to the rim with Durant with the ball? You get quite possibly the dunk-of-the-year by KD. Late in the fourth quarter with OKC up big on the Suns, Durant blows past Michael Beasley en route to the rim with only Gortat in his way. Well, it didn;t take much for KD to elevate and throw...

POTD 1/14/13: Taj Gibson on Anthony Tolliver

There’s a laundry list of things I like about the dunk that Kevin Durant sent home over the top of Marcin Gortat last night.  First of all, I like that Gortat is seven feet tall, 240 pounds.  That’s a big damn Pole to be smashing on with such authority.  In addition, I like that Durant took off from the dotted line, that he drew enough body contact to warrant a whistle, and...

Monta Ellis scored 24 points and Larry Sanders added 19, while Dunleavy and Brandon Jennings had 16 apiece for the Bucks, who had not won in the Valley since Feb. 21, 1987...

PHOENIX -- For Milwaukee, the Buck finally stopped in Phoenix. Monta Ellis scored 24 points and Larry Sanders added 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Bucks snapped a string of 24 consecutive losses in Arizona with a 98-94 win over the Suns on Thursday night at U.S. Airways Center. Suns can look to Thunder as example

PHOENIX -- If fans of the Phoenix Suns are looking for some positive spin during this season of bitter karma, we offer the Oklahoma City Thunder as evidence of what can happen. Well, the Thunder represents what happens if high draft picks are possessed when transcendent talent is available, recognized and chosen. Monday night at U.S. Airways Center, such talent was on display during...
