Mickael Pietrus, who has been nursing a knee injury since signing with the Boston Celtics, could make his debut next week against the Dallas Mavericks. (WEEI)

Ainge also told Glenn Ordway and Michael Holley that Mickael Pietrus (knee surgery) could debut for the Celtics next Wednesday vs. the Mavericks at the Garden.

It’s unclear exactly what role Pietrus will play, but it seems likely that he will take some (if not all) of Avery Bradley’s minutes. This is normally the time when I make some sort of bad joke about Bradley’s offense, but HE SCORED SIX POINTS IN THE LAST FOUR AND A HALF MINUTES AGAINST NEW JERSEY’S SCRUBS, PEOPLE, RAISING HIS FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE TO 29.4 PERCENT!

Seriously (and with less shouting), I’m looking forward to Pietrus’ debut, even if I’m quickly becoming more intrigued by Bradley’s potential as a defensive stopper. If he can just be passable offensively, like he was against New Jersey, at least in the second half, his defense is a weapon.
