There were some highlights for the Minnesota Timberwolves this year, as Ricky Rubio came back and proved that he still has his magic, Nikola Pekovic has become a true franchise center and Derrick Williams proved that he is no bust and could be excellent trade fodder, but when it comes to Kevin Love, it was a total failure. Their franchise player, only played in 18 contests, broke his hand twice and recently had knee surgery. This was a wasted year for Love, hence a wasted season for the team. They only signed him for 4 seasons and they only have 3 left, until he may turn and run. Love has openly stated that he wants changes made and to win if he is going to stay in Minnesota long-term and the fact that they did not sign him to a 5 year max contract may end up ruining the team, as it would have given them an extra year to improve the team. They now have only 3 years to put a product on the court that satisfies him. He has been open with his frustrations and it is easy to believe that...

Timberwolves face tough offseason decisions

Call it the season that went wrong, the season that failed, the season that never was. Wonder what could have been. Wonder how all of those injuries happened to one team. But ask Ricky Rubio, as has been the occasion several times this spring, and he'll offer a correction. It's not about what could have been, he's wont to say, but what can be. It's in that earnest...

Wolves eye winning home mark as Suns arrive

The Minnesota Timberwolves would appear to have little left to play for, but they still have a chance to accomplish one feat. Minnesota (29-50) is set to miss...

Brandon Roy Hopes To Play In One More Game

I talk about this all the time but I really feel sports fans have a tendency to forget history. The Portland Trail Blazers had the potential to be great had the potential to be great had injuries not cut short the careers of Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Remember this? Portland had a potential trio [...]

Love not going to dwell on 'lost season'

MINNEAPOLIS He didn't look the part of the injured star, the perpetrator of the bungled season, the missing piece around which everything was built. No, on Saturday Kevin Love looked like any other NBA player warming up before a late-season game. His cheeks were flushed, his hairline sweaty, his shorts and T-shirt rumpled. But this was no healthy player preparing to take the...
