When something goes right for the Los Angeles Lakers, Mitch Kupchak gets all the credit and when something goes wrong, Jim Buss gets all the blame. And Jeanie Buss? Many fans want her to replace her brother and work alongside Kupchak. That’s the way things work these days in Lakerland. Many on the outside are worried about the future direction of the franchise seeing as the man who led them to so much success over so many years has now sadly departed. However, Kupchak says he has “complete confidence” in all of Dr. Jerry Buss‘ children, especially Jim and Jeanie: We all grew up together. We’re all of the same age in terms of being born in the late fifties or sixties. So, I know Jeanie very well – I know Johnny and Janie, I know Jimmy, and the two younger boys, I know them very well also. The six of us are charged with working this out. Certainly, some are more active than others. I have complete confidence in all the kids, in particular the ones I work most closely with, which is Jeanie and Jimmy. Of course, many people will say Kupchak has no other choice than to say that he trusts the Buss children, though it’s worth reminding the fans that Jerry set up the franchise’s future to look like this while he was still alive. Dr. Buss is always praised for his ability to place the right people in the perfect role in order for them to succeed, and his decision to put Jim in charge of basketball operations and for Jeanie to oversee the business side should be respected and should also be given a chance to work. .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 300px; height: 250px; } @media(min-width: 500px) { .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 300px; height: 250px; } } @media(min-width: 800px) { .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 336px; height: 280px; } }
