PLAYERS: David Stern
TEAMS: Utah Jazz

From NESN:

David Stern may already be auditioning for a new career.

Last month the NBA commissioner announced that he would be stepping down from his post in February of 2014. Though Stern’s tenure has been marked by some controversy — much of it surrounding officiating — there’s no denying that the stature of the league has increased exponentially under his watch.

On Monday night, Stern stopped by the FedExForum in Memphis to visit with the visiting Utah Jazz’ television broadcast team to talk about the state of the game, and ended up being goaded into doing a little play-by-play and color commentary.

Why the NBA Needs to Shorten the Season

“Shorten?!?!?…….not on my watch”   The dog days of summer ends, fall begins. The weather noticeably gets colder, you find yourself putting on a jacket when you go outside for the first time in over 5 months. You look out your window and see the leaves changing to fall oranges and yellows and you grimace at the thought of the fact, soon you will have to rake all those leaves...

Enes Kanter says his house in Utah is haunted

Utah Jazz fan favorite Enes Kanter gave an entertaining interview to Kyle Gunther of 1320 KFAN in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Foye's shooting spree powers Jazz past Lakers

SALT LAKE CITY -- Kobe Bryant went on one of his patented scoring tears late in the fourth quarter Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz. However, it was too little, too late for the visiting Los Angeles Lakers. Even though Bryant scored 16 in a row for the Lakers in the final moments at EnergySolutions Arena, Randy Foye's fourth-quarter offensive outburst proved to be more...

Video: David Stern tries his hand at play by play, receives endless praise

NBA Emperor David Stern made a guest appearance in the Root Sports booth as the Jazz were on the road in Memphis this week.  While Stern's commentary is predictably non-descript, what truly stands out about this clip is the backslapping of Stern by the Jazz broadcasters, Craig Bolerjack and Matt Harpring.  Judging by their effusive acclamation of Stern, you'd think he was...

Utah’s Hayward speaks highly of Spurs’ Ginobili, Leonard

On Saturday, Utah Jazz guard-forward Gordon Hayward scored 15 points on 11 shot attempts in a 110-100 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in the AT&T Center. In the game, Hayward was faced against both a player he looked up to growing up in Manu Ginobili, and a young defensive product in Kawhi Leonard. After the game, I caught up with Hayward in the locker room where he spoke highly...

Games To Watch, Week Two (11/5-11/11)

Monday, November 5th: Jazz @ Grizzlies, 8:00 ET, NBALP: This Jazz team is notorious for its struggles away from home, but I’m going to roll with them anyway.  If Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, Enes Kanter, Derrick Favors, and Marreese Speights fail to provide an interesting battle in the painted area… I’ll not only be surprised, but sorely disappointed...
