The Sacramento Kings have elected not to pick up their 14-15 option on Jimmer Fredette.

Fredette would have been due $3.1 million if the Kings exercised the option.

Fredette was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft ahead of Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard and Iman Shumpert.

Fredette will become an unrestricted free agent in July.

Unsurprisingly, the Sacramento Kings decline 4th-year option on Jimmer Fredette's contract

Jimmer just hasn't lived up to hype surrounding him out of college, when he was a lights-out sharpshooter at BYU that was making SportsCenter's Top Ten routinely In a relatively predictable move, the Sacramento Kings have declined the option on swingman Jimmer Fredette's current contract, making him an unrestricted free agent at season's end. Fredette...

Kings not picking up Jimmer Fredette option

The NBA career of former college sensation Jimmer Fredette took another turn for the worse Thursday, when, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, the Sacramento Kings informed him they would not exercise the 2014-15 team option that would have paid him $3.1 million for that season. Sacramento therapist says patients were worries about Kings leaving

In one of the more unique stories from night one of the Kings staying in Sacramento, Sacramento Bee reporter Jason...

Kings Decline Fourth Year Option On Jimmer Fredette

NBA 2013-14 Season Preview: Sacramento Kings

A Home for The Jimmer

Don’t worry folks:  this isn’t going from some BYU honk who wants Jimmer on the Jazz more than anything.  I’m going to start off with that caveat. But with today’s announcement that the Sacramento Kings would not be picking up the option on Jimmer Fredette’ s final year of his contract, it’s worth looking ahead to identify some teams and systems that would be a nice...
