From Larry Brown Sports:

Kobe Bryant confirmed Friday that he hisses like a snake when he calls for the basketball on the court.

Washington Wizards guard Jordan Crawford said during an interview on "Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable" that aired during the week that he was surprised to hear Bryant hiss on the court when he played him for the first time.

“When I first played with Kobe — they call him the Black Mamba — but then he was doing like a little snake sound when he wanted the ball,” Crawford told Le Batard. “It was crazy. It was crazy. It’s like tsssss, tsssss. Like [he was calling former teammate Derek Fisher] Fish, Fish, Fisher. Tsssss, tssss. He do that. Everybody tells you he’s gonna do it before you play him — like, ‘Wait till you hear him do this.’ And then he [does] it, and it’s like, what? He’s really a mamba. It sounds like some kind of snake.”

After Crawford's story received exposure Friday, a person asked Kobe over Twitter whether Crawford's tale was true. Bryant confirmed it is.

You can see Crawford share his story in the video below:

Kobe Bryant Admonishes Fan on Twitter for Using ‘Gay’ as Insult

Kobe Bryant clearly hasn’t always been the most politically correct athlete. Although Bryant will go down in history as one of the best basketball players ever to lace ‘em up, his resume as a role model is questionable. Back in April of 2011, Bryant was caught on camera calling a referee by a homophobic slur. Them, of course there was that whole alleged rape, cheating on his...

Kobe Bryant scolds fan on Twitter for using the word ‘gay’ as an insult

Nearly two years ago, Kobe Bryant was fined $100,000 by the NBA for using a derogatory term for homosexuals when he became upset after receiving a technical foul. Kobe apologized after the incident and insisted his comment was not meant to offend the gay or lesbian community, and has since acknowledged that the outburst was inappropriate. On Sunday, Kobe took a stand against a Twitter...

Steve Bullpett: Bryant admires C's

After the Celtics' dismantling of the Los Angeles Lakers last night, Kobe Bryant spoke with the media about his rival team in Green. He gave the Celtics a ton a respect and continued praise, wishing his team would buckle down and play a similar way. The C's are now 6-0 without Rajon Rondo (26-23 on the season)  and Byant had this to say about Boston in an excerpt from Bullpett...

2nd-half rally lifts Lakers over 'Cats

Kobe: I'm done voicing opinions about Dwight

MIAMI -- The dust certainly didn't settle after the Lakers eked out a win against the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, not when Dwight Howard's father injected himself into his son's awkward relationship with Kobe Bryant. The elder Howard said his son needed to sit down with Bryant to hash out their differences. He also said Coach Mike D'Antoni wasn't being assertive...

LeBron knows Kobe is same old scorer

MIAMI A new Kobe Bryant supposedly has emerged in recent weeks for the Los Angeles Lakers. But not for LeBron James. He believes hes the same old Kobe. James, the Miami Heat star, couldn't care less that the Lakers star recently had a run of 39 assists in three games and 56 over five. Hes doesnt buy that Bryant all of a sudden has become a facilitator. Do I buy that? No,...

Dwight Howard’s Father Believes a Meeting Between His Son, Kobe Bryant, Mike D’Antoni Is Needed

The Los Angeles Lakers have had their fair share of issues this season. While their injuries and inconsistent play have led to a multitude of questions about the team that have largely gone unanswered, it seems an unlikely source – Dwight Howard‘s father — has at least one answer to their latest controversy. After Kobe Bryant demanded some urgency from his injured teammate...

Kobe Bryant: LeBron James Says Lakers Guard Isn’t a Distributor, Still a Scorer
