Kobe Bryant has a cutthroat attitude on and off the court. We already knew that. He wants all of his Los Angeles Lakers teammates playing hard and constantly believing that they can win a championship. But how much sway does Kobe have within the Los Angeles Lakers organization? Enough to get a player cut? Bryant was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” early Friday morning. He was asked how his teammates reacted to his guarantee last month that the Lakers would make the playoffs despite being 4.5 games out of the last spot. “If anybody in that locker room would have said, ‘Well, I don’t know if we’re going to make it,’ I would have called the Buss family and said, ‘Cut this guy right now!’ Get him outta there!’” Bryant said with much laughter. Ordinarily we would have dismissed the statement as a total joke, but this sounds like something Kobe actually would do. You remember when he said the Lakers should “ship [Andrew Bynum's] ass out” if it meant acquiring Jason Kidd in a trade? Yeah, Kobe may have been joking, but he was also probably serious. The only question is whether the front office — and Buss family — would listen. Bryant also told Kimmel that his career is coming to an end “soon” and that he is not going to another team. “It’s coming to an end and I’m happy it’ll with a Lakers uniform,” said Bryant. This post would not be complete without sharing a photo of the leopard shoes Kobe was sporting: Below is part two of the interview: Related posts: Kobe Bryant defends Jim Buss against Magic Johnson criticism Does Jerry Buss Believe Kobe Bryant Is Worth $70 Million a Year to the Lakers? • I really hope these are fake leopard fur shoes and not the real thing. If they are real leopard fur that's pretty sad for him to be going around showing everyone he's got a nice pair of leopard shoes. Oh sure, it's his right to do so if he wants. Of course it is, blah, blah, blah. And yes, I have some leather cowhide jackets. But how many leopards are left in this world these days? Anyone know? To say I wasn't rooting for the aliens in the movie "Predator" is an understatement. It's about time some other species makes trophies out of us humans, stuffs us to put on display and wears pieces of us for shoes, wallets, belts, coats and purses.
  • Trophies have been made from human skin and just like with poaching prison time goes with getting caught. Do you really encounter that many people walking around with actual leopard hide shoes, wallets, belts...etc? I could be mistaken but I believe there is a law against the import of those items unless they are vintage predating the law. I would guess that these items could be found in parts of africa as well as asia, transporting them would be quite difficult, ( I would often wager that the items found in those places claiming to be real would more than likely be fake in any case). Then once in the states to appear on tv wearing such an item would be quite silly and expensive. I'm not certain how much a person would be required to pay PETA to make it acceptable but I am certain it would be quite a bit. While I am against killing endangered species for hides, tusks, organs, glands, or whatever other absurd things people wish from them, I am also against people throwing fits every time they see something dyed in an animal print pattern and spew garbage about how humans need to be harvested for their skins. Take 2 midol and call someone else in the morning.
  • Starting mess. He was clearly joking. He doesn't seem to have much pull with Jim Buss. I had to start an account to protest this messy writing. He basically said he didn't want someone that didn't believe that they can win games in his locker room. Every player should say that.
  • kobe is just a rat anyway! selfish to the point that he'll cost his team for personal gain.
  • Some rehhins aren't worth the powder to blow them up. He is one of them.
  • What a little bitch he is.

Drew Stanton likely out for the year, postseason included

A season that has been defined by surprising all-around team play and marred by injuries to multiple major contributors will pretty much end that way for the Arizona Cardinals. Regardless of whether Bruce Arians’ squad continues to surprise the NFL world in the playoffs, it appears that Ryan Lindley will be under center for the duration. Belichick: Garoppolo has better understanding of NFL

It’s only right that three days after Christmas, the New England Patriots will get to play with their shiny new quarterback. Since Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills means nothing to the New England Patriots  — they’ve already clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC — keeping their starters in the game for all four quarters seems like a ticking time bomb for injuries...

The last time the Lions won in Green Bay

Mel Gray returned a fourth quarter punt 78 yards for a touchdown. Erik Kramer completed two touchdown passes to Robert Clark. The year was 1991, and the eventual NFC Central winning Detroit Lions held off Mike Tomczak and the Green Bay Packers 21-17 at Lambeau Field. Since that fateful December afternoon in Green Bay, the Packers have won 23 consecutive home games against Detroit...

Carmelo Anthony: The Knicks are dying
