Via Cosby Sweaters:

The BBVA Rising Stars Challenge has turned into a mostly ho-hum affair, due in most part to mixing rookies and sophomores as teammates — thus removing any incentive to play even half-heartedly. Friday was no different, as Team Chuck destroyed Team Shaq by a score of…well, that’s not important. What is important is that around the 5:30 mark of the second half, Kyrie Irving must have sensed the viewing audience’s collective yawn, and immediately sucked them back in with a little razzle-dazzle — at the expense of poor Brandon Knight.

Knight did come back at Irving at the opposite end, and the two guards traded crossovers on each other over the next few possessions, putting a cap on an otherwise forgettable night.

  • Nothing's going right for Kentucky Cat's, including Knight getting taken by a former Blue Devil. Bad year fellow Cats.

Kyrie Irving Makes Brandon Knight Look Foolish

Brandon Knight is going to be hearing about this one for sometime. It looks like he's playing the shell game on the streets of New York except Kyrie left the shells at home and just used his dazzling handiwork instead. Poor guy--but in his defense this Kyrie Irving kid is pretty good.

Cavaliers Kyrie Irving Wins All-Star 3 Point Shoot Out Thanks To Byron Scott Of Course Read Now To Find Out How

Nobody can say the Cavaliers young point guard Kyrie Irving can’t rise up to a challenge. Irivng attending his first NBA All-Star game, won the 3 point shot contest last night, it just might have been because of his head coach Byron Scott cared enough to challenge the sophomore NBA player. Iriving claimed victory in the 3 point shoot out and he did it in fine fashion.  The win...

Kyrie Irving Breaks Brandon Knight’s Ankles During Rising Stars Challenge (Video)

The BBVA Rising Stars Challenge is simply a pickup game during NBA All Star Friday that allows 1st and 2nd year NBA players the chance to shine and get ridiculous buckets. The game can get boring at times, but it always helps when a young star with handle or hops can take the night over.  That guy with the handles last night, Kyrie Irving, might have the best handle on the planet...

Cleveland Cavaliers: Advanced Stats Show that the Cavaliers are Nothing Without Kyrie Irving

There is no doubting the fact that Kyrie Irving is one of the rising superstars in this league and that he should become one of the greatest players of this generation. At 19, he has already won the Rookie of the Year award and is already an All-Star. He is the highest scoring point guard in the NBA and sixth overall and has it been mentioned that he is only 19? He has not yet reached...

Kyrie Irving Destroys Brandon Knight With Deadly Crossover

Team Chuck destroyed Team Shaq in Friday night’s BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, but it didn’t stop Kyrie Irving for getting some destroying himself for the game. The Cavaliers sophomore point guard had 32 points in the game, along with six assists, for Team Shaq. With about five minutes left to play in the game, the 20-year-old put up one of the most deadly crossovers we...

Cavaliers limp into All-Star break where Kyrie Irving won’t have much of one

Metaphors are a funny thing. In the National Basketball Association, seven seconds can turn a prince in to a pauper. It was the “seven seconds or less” offense that ultimately earned Mike D’Antoni two large market jobs. Reggie Miller used the large part of seven seconds when he drained two consecutive three-pointers against the New York Knicks in 1995. And it was the same seven...

It was a coming out party for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving. The sophomore left Brandon Knight on skates during the rising stars challenge and took the top spot in the “Footlocker Three-Point Shoot-Out.” Check the highlights:

NBA News: Chris Bosh to start in All-Star Game over Kyrie Irving

As suspected by many leading up to this weekend’s festivities, Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh will start in the All-Star game in place of injured point guard Rajon Rondo. Miami Heat head coach Eric Spolestra was given the final decision and chose one of his players over other point guards in Cleveland’ s Kyrie Irving and Philadelphia’s Jrue Holiday. Bosh will start alongside...

The link to that episode of Cleveland...

Irving's mentality helped defeat Bonner, win 3-Point Contest

Kyrie Irving was featured in the 3-Point Contest on Saturday night, a skill he's not known much for in the league despite shooting 42% from beyond the arc. The men he was going up against were known for this and probably viewed as favorites for the event, namely San Antonio Spurs' Matt "Red Mamba" Bonner and New York Knicks' Steve Novak. These two reserves don...
