On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers’ season mercifully came to an end as they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. In fact, if Kobe were able to play, I still think the Spurs would have won this series comfortably.

In the second quarter of Game 4, Dwight Howard was ejected after picking up his second technical foul. By that point, the game was already a blowout, but many people are sounding off on Dwight Howard for “letting his team down” by allowing himself to lose his cool and get ejected. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with that. I think, like any other athlete, he was simply frustrated and let his emotions get the best of him. We’ve seen Kobe lose his cool many times in crucial situations during his career as well.

But afterward, Magic Johnson went on an epic Twitter rant about Dwight Howard.

From the beginning, I never thought Howard should’ve left Orlando. I wonder if he’s feeling that way now. Will he be back with the Lakers next season? If you ask me today, I'm putting my money on "No."

  • Is it just me, or does it seem like Magic has nothing nice to say about the Lakers team? Good grief Magic, didn't your momma ever teach you that if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. With your history in the Laker's organization, you should be ashamed of yourself. Why don't you focus on your new toy for a while...the Dodgers. Leave the Lakers and their fans alone!

I guess your "momma" didn't teach you either!
  • I respect Magic Johnson. As a sportsman myself, and being on different teams all through school, elementary, Jr. High and High School. I don't ever remember having a coach "not" tell it like it is. A good coach, or owner who cares about his team will do that. He will rip his team. Maybe not in public, but if you win, you get praise, if you lose you will hear it, and you should. This new era of praise the loser team has got to end. It does not teach kids how to handle problems in life. If you don't perform well at your job, your boss can choose to fire you. Usually they don't sweet talk you, neither does the bill collector. Life is tough, and if you need someone to knock you around a little until you get it, and play well as a team, then you deserve it.
  • Listen, with the money those players get paid they should learn to control their emotions. They are paid to control their game, and themselves. When they get out on the court, the focus should be the team always. That's what being a team player is all about. That's why Kobe excells, because he puts the team first.
  • I would have to say that Howard is by far the worst center/player the Lakers have you never know what or who your going to get on any given night mommas boy need to go some were that has baby sitting services.

Dwight Howard to Take Up Yoga, Apologizes to Lakers Fans & Suggests He’ll Return

One thing, should be made clear. Regardless of how you feel about Dwight’s clown like behavior, 6 hidden Baby Mamas, limited post game and wishy-washy comments, he is still, pretty clearly the best center in the NBA. He definitely has room for improvement, be it mentally and physically, but he is a very good player. He is going to be a max player wherever he plays next year. Simply...

Metta World Peace: I think we put a little too much pressure on Dwight Howard

Metta World Peace believes that Dwight Howard is getting too much of the heat. “I think we put a little too much pressure on Dwight and as responsible leaders, we gave him a little too much responsibility,” said World Peace. “Kobe (Bryant), Pau (Gasol) and myself, we weren’t responsible enough. Dwight Howard 's Season Ends With an Ejection

The Lakers got the last thing they ever needed was Kobe Bryant going down. The second to last thing they needed was to lose Dwight Howard in an elimination game due to a second technical foul early in the second half. It has been a rough season for Dwight Howard. Heck, its been a rough couple of years for the big man. From his inglorious departure from Orlando to his landing...

Dwight's nightmare end, Dwightmare begins again

The questions started almost as soon as Dwight Howard was ejected from Sunday's Game Four loss to the Spurs: Will Dwight Howard re-sign with the Lakers? Of all the players who struggled on the Lakers and led to this disappointing season, Howard was alone with the most to lose. His legacy was not set and would be written in the coming months and years. And in 2012-13, he failed...

The Dwightmare Continues

Sunday night the L.A. Lakers were swept from the playoffs and went out with a thud. After already losing Kobe Bryant for the season and playing without Steve Nash, Steve Blake and Metta World Peace among others the Lakers hopes rested squarely on the shoulders of Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol. Now I for one have not been a Howard supporter. I do believe he is very overrated and wouldn’t...

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly “shopping” running back LaMichael James, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
