A few years ago, we saw footage of a 48-year-old Michael Jordan dunk. And rather effortlessly too. Although he’s approaching 50, the man still keeps himself in shape apparently.
Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist can attest to that. Apparently, the two played one-on-one recently and Jordan won, according to USA Today Sports.
Now, I know Jordan is the greatest, but there’s absolutely no way an almost 50-year-old Jordan should beat a 19-year-old Kidd-Gilchrist -- the No. 2 pick in last year’s draft. Either MKG was intimidated by Jordan’s trash talk (which is entirely possible) or he was star-struck. Either way, it’s inexcusable.
Whether he comes back to the NBA or not, Jordan still can beat you in one-on-one … unless you’re better than the No. 2 pick in the draft.
Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist said Friday in Houston that 49-year-old Jordan beat him a one-on-one game. Jordan turns 50 Sunday, while Kidd-Gilchrist is seven months away from turning 20.
“It was hard for me,” Kidd-Gilchrist said before playing in the Rising Stars Challenge rookie-sophomore game Friday night. “I lost. He’s the greatest man that ever played the game.
“Oh, yeah. He’s good.”
Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist lost a one-on-one basketball game to his boss. That sounds bad, until you realize the greatest basketball player of all time is the Bobcats’ majority owner.
Michael Jordan turns 50 on Sunday, and he was still able to beat the 19-year-old Gilchrist.
“It was hard for me,” the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NBA draft told USA Today. “I...
Jason Whitney Michael Jordan beat Michael Kidd-Gilchrist one-on-one
Maybe Antawn Jamison wasn’t lying when he said Michael Jordan could still score double figures in the NBA at 50 years-old. I’m sure rookie, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could attest to this. Kidd-Gilchrist took on the nearly 50 year-old, Michael Jordan who is 31 years older than the Charlotte Bobcats rookie. The...
Ben Gordon may be on the market for those interested, but it sounds like buyers should beware.
Yahoo! Sports reports that the Bobcats are more likely to explore the possibility of trading the guard after an incident with head coach Mike Dunlap.
According to the report, Dunlap was trying to speak to the team prior to its game against the Celtics on Monday, but Gordon kept dribbling...
The Charlotte Bobcats really got me. Perhaps it was in fact only me, but I had hopes that they’d get off to a decent start and maybe even be competitive in 2012-13. Turns out, for the first month anyways, I was right. The Bobcats were at one point 6-4, and exited November a reasonable 7-8. [...]
Could Michael Jordan play at 50? I’m sure he could, and his longtime trainer, Tim Grover is prepared for the call. Grover says “Michael is still the best player on the Charlotte Bobcats.”
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports:
On Jordan’s Hall of Fame induction speech: ”I heard that speech differently than everybody else,” Grover said. Grover heard Jordan raising...
Desperate to unload Ben Gordon, the Charlotte Bobcats are offering the disgruntled shooting guard to the Toronto Raptors for Andrea Bargnani.
ESPN's Marc Stein reported that the Raptors don't appear to be interested in taking on Gordon with a bench full of younger, cheaper wings.
The Cats are "determined" to dump Gordon after the guard had several run ins...
Ben Gordon's act of defiance toward Mike Dunlap has increased the Bobcats' motivation to trade him.
The NBA is more concerned with growing world wide and teams like the Charlotte Bobcats, while important to their individual markets, are simply inventory to spread the game globally, not necessarily to dominate a particular market. Basically, It doesn’t matter where the team plays to the upper levels of the NBA. New York, Los Angeles [...]
The Raptors are unlikely to trade Andrea Bargnani for Ben Gordon given the presence of Terrence Ross and Alan Anderson at shooting guard.

Michael Jordan has been in the news a lot lately, for a variety of strange reasons. During LeBron James’ recent hot streak, the comparisons between the two have been a hot topic of conversation, once again. Then, we found out that the soon-to-be 50-year-old Michael Jordan beat Michael...
