From Sportress of Blogitude:
Meet Clutch. He’s the beloved mascot of the Houston Rockets. As you can see, Clutch seems like a delightful character, harmless enough, exactly what folks have come to expect out of a mascot. Cute, over-sized and loveable. A mascot children as well as adults can love.
But when it comes to commitment to a bit, Clutch doesn’t take that kind of responsibility lightly. He’s a committed, tenacious performer.
To wit: for a clearly staged scene during Tuesday night’s home court tilt against the Los Angeles Lakers (lots of good stuff from this game: see here and here), cameras captured Clutch coming upon a supposed Lakers fan, fully regaled in a Kobe Bryant jersey and annoyingly chatting away on his cell phone.
That’s when Clutch springs into action. And when Clutch let’s it all hang out for an in-arena routine, he unleashes the beast.
Armed with a cake, Clutch unloads on the poor guy. I mean it’s violent, so much so it’s reasonable to wonder if the actor was in stable condition afterward or required medical attention and/or a trip to the hospital.
Jeez Louise. Shocking brutality. The force in which Clutch drives the cake into the guy’s waiting mug is aggressive to say the least. Hazard pay-worthy, possibly. The guy will be picking pieces of cake and hunks of frosting out of every orifice in his head for weeks.
And here it is in slo-mo:
Oh, the humanity. Poor, poor Lakers Impersonator Guy.

Piss of Cake!

How is using violence against a fan even staged be okay these days. That is incredibly disrespectful to Lakers fans and should never be allowed in any arena. The Lakers have never done any stunt like that cause they are a classy organization that doenst beat up other teams fans. For those of you who don't like what i say. TOO BAD.

Lucky mascot it was not me that laker fan cause i would stood up clean my face and beat that hell of that stupid mascot and show him some respect

A real lack of class.
