Obviously, being 6’10″ and 289 pounds, Utah Jazz center Al Jefferson has probably experienced his fair share of uncomfortable sleepless nights trying to fit is considerable frame into more conventional, standard-sized beds. And that’s including those of the king size variety.
So, it stands to reason that when you make millions of dollars per year and have vast amounts of wealth and the space afforded of a larger master suite at your disposal, I suppose one should feel perfectly entitled to spare no expense when it comes to comfort, especially as it relates to getting a sound and good night’s sleep.
Granted, Jefferson doesn’t have the opportunity to enjoy the creature comforts of home every night during the long NBA season, but when he is in town, he now will sleep presumably in total comfort, thanks to spending a whopping $23,000 on a ginormous bed perfectly suited for his much-larger-than-average size.
But looking at the photo above doesn’t do the jaw-dropping size of it justice. Jefferson’s teammate, Mo Williams, tweeted a photo of himself relaxing on the bed, and after looking at it, the sheer enormity of the mattress comes into focus.

To lend further evidence to the ginormous scale of the bed, Mo Williams is 6’1″. Sweet sassy molassesy.
The bed apparently is 10 feet by 12 feet, so there is no chance that Jefferson will ever feel any sense of constriction as he sprawls out in the bed and drifts off into dreamland, and that would remain true even if he invited a traveling troupe of little people to crash at his place while the circus is in town. Although I have no idea why he would ever do that, but the point is he could.
Oh, and for confirmation of the price, Spencer Hall tweeted this photo of the shipping tag:

Incredible.
