Pierce and KG will overtake Parish and Ewing, respectively.
The big story for the Celtics/Hornets game this evening is Doc Rivers vs. his son, Austin. But, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce also have the opportunity to accomplish some major milestones. Garnett (24,809) trails Patrick Ewing (24,815) by just 6 points for 16th place on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Meanwhile Pierce (23,317) is just 17 points behind Celtics legend Robert Parish (23,334) for 22nd place. There's a very good chance we'll see both those marks eclipsed tonight.
Ray Allen (23,336) just passed "The Chief" for the #21 spot on the list Monday. If Pierce can score 20 by 10:30 pm tonight (there's a later than normal 8:00 pm start) he'll move past Ray; who will then likely regain his position soon after the Heat tip off at Golden State.

Over the past 3 games, Paul Pierce has been wearing a new colorway of his signature shoe the Nike Air Legacy 3. This makeup of the AL3 features a Black tongue with a green and white upper. This is one of the best versions of the shoe to date.
The Celtics host the New Orleans Hornets tonight, normally a fairly insignificant game on the schedule. But today it includes the story line of C’s head coach Doc Rivers facing off against his son, Austin, who was the Hornets first round draft pick last June.
This evening could also be a big night for Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Garnett (24,809) needs just 7 points to pass...
The Celtics don’t blow bad teams away.We know this by now. It has been the case since 2008 when the Hawks inexplicably took the Celtics to seven games in the first round of the playoffs. For whatever reason, whether it be motivation or something else, Boston just doesn’t blow out very many teams. Instead, they grind things out, lose a few games that they shouldn’t lose, and...
BOSTON — On the surface, Anthony Davis seems to have a lot in common with a young Kevin Garnett. The lithe rookie for the New Orleans Hornets is just as freakishly athletic at 6-foot-10 as Garnett was as a 19-year-old for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995. Just like a young Garnett, Davis’ potential is clear despite a mostly up-and-down rookie campaign.
Playing against Davis...
Speaking on TNT NBA Tip-off, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal said Garnett, who received 553,222 votes, the least among the 10 starters, didn’t deserve the honor this year.
“I love Kevin Garnett, but he’s not having an All-Star year,” Barkley said. “It’s not fair to Tyson Chandler. He should be starting in the All-Star Game.”
“Tyson Chandler should be starting...
From one athletic freak out of Chicago’s South Side to another, Kevin Garnett had high praise for Anthony Davis.
“That kid is long,” the aging Celtics superstar said of the Hornets rookie. “He makes me look like a midget, man. I was nothing like him. He’s a freak of nature. This kid’s going to be really good. He’s going to be really good.”

Last week Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett got into it after Garnett made some comments about Melo’s wife. Of course Garnett denied the whole thing. Now he won’t have the luxury of lying. Check out the Knicks new high-tech mics. Here’s the scoop via Post, “A Garden technician holds a sensitive mic at Sunday’s game to eavesdrop on what Carmelo Anthony and is opponents say...
A Garden technician holds a sensitive mic at Sunday's game to eavesdrop on what Carmelo Anthony and is opponents say. James Dolan ordered two of them to be used at each game to avoid more "he said, he said" situations like the one that arose between Anthony and Kevin Garnett.
There has been a lot said about KG's trash talking since something he said to Carmelo...
New York Knicks owner James Dolan is one crazy guy. After Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett got in their heated on court argument, Anthony waited for Garnett at the team bus trying to straiten things out. Apparently Garnett said his wife La La “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.” The verbal fight resulted in technical fouls against each player, and a suspension for Carmelo for...
Congratulations to Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett for being voted in by the fans as starters. Between KG and Melo in the frontcourt and Dwyane Wade and Rondo in the back court, this may be one...
Tweet After the Honey Nut Cheerios incident between Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett earned Anthony a one-game suspension, Knicks owner James Dolan wasn’t going to take any more chances. That’s why, according to a report, on Friday and Sunday when the Knicks matched up with the Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Hornets, Dolan had in-house [...]

NBA All-Star voting is underway, and the Celtics are finally playing like a team that has a couple of All-Stars on its roster.
Despite a hiccup on Wednesday night against the New Orleans Hornets, the C’s appear to be pulling things together, thanks in large part to their current “Big Three” of Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce.
