PLAYERS: Steve Nash
TEAMS: Phoenix Suns

For years people have wondered when Steve Nash’s back was finally going to get the best of him and he’d have to call it quits. The Phoenix Suns’ veteran point guard leads the NBA in assists and he’s put his team in a position to challenge for a playoff spot that no one thought they’d be contending for. Nash does have to sit out the occasional game, but he says his back feels “the best it’s felt in a decade.” There are some rumors that his injury is keeping him from playing up what he’s capable of, but Nash says that isn’t true. "It's been my best year physically from start to finish in a long time," Nash said. "Other than a little tweak (last week) against San Antonio, my back's been pretty close to 100 percent." The 38-year-old Nash says he wants to play for 3 more years. So his desired contract, whether it be with the Suns or any other team, will have him playing well past his ...

Nash not angered by Diaw signing in San Antonio

Before the season started few predicted the Phoenix Suns would be in the thick of the playoff race, but there they are.  The Suns are 26-26, just a game and a half behind Houston for the eighth seed.  Is this Steve Nash's last ride he's making it a pretty good one but they definitely still need help.  That being said, the Suns still need help.  The trade deadline came...

Suns continue playoff push against Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets know they caught a break when Phoenix Suns coach Alvin Gentry decided to rest Steve Nash the last time these teams played. They're unlikely to be as fortunate this time with the Suns making a strong playoff push. Playing its first home game in more than two weeks, Denver goes for a fifth consecutive victory in this series Friday night while surging Phoenix...

LaMarcus Aldridge would like Steve Nash to be a Blazer

It's been a rough year for the Portland Trailblazers, and an even rougher one for Raymond Felton. I guess actually it's been roughest for Nate McMillan really, who was fired in part because Ray averaged a career low 10.4 points per game this season, but all of this is besides the point.  What's important, at least for the purposes of this blog post, is that the Blazers...

It's not what Nash said, it's what Suns do

When the chips are down and he's backed into a corner by representatives of the vicious Phoenix media, Steve Nash often unholsters the C-word. On Sunday night, the C-word was not "cohesion." He doesn't need that particular C-word these days because Nash and the Phoenix Suns have developed on-court chemistry (another pertinent C-word with abundant use) in their...
