Boston Celtics

The Celtics are really in need of a center. Currently the Celtics don’t really have a true center on their roster. During the Celtics playoff run Kevin Garnett mostly played center but he is really a true power forward. Garnett’s future with the Celtics is uncertain.

The Celtics could also really use an athletic wing player or a shooting guard if Ray Allen leaves in free agency. Sure, Ray is a great shooter but he lacks athletic ability. It’s been a while since the Celtics have had a real athletic player on the wing.

With the future of some many players uncertain the Celtics will need a lot of quality players for depth at almost every position. Right now the only sure thing for the Celtics is Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce. The Celtics have 2 first round picks.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets have a disappointing season last year and to make matters worse they only have one pick in this year’s NBA draft. That pick is also the 57th overall pick. I am sure the Nets are trying to work some things out to get some more picks.

The first order of business for the Nets is to resign star point guard Deron Williams. If they cannot do this they really need a point guard. The Nets have a ton of free agents so they could use a player at every position in this year’s draft. The most of the Nets work will be done in free agency not the draft.

New York Knicks

Like the Nets the Knicks only have one pick in this year’s NBA draft. The pick is also not a 1st round pick it is the 48th pick overall. The Knicks will have to do most of their work in free agency not the draft.

Hopefully for the Knicks they can resign Jeremy Lin but if not they will be in big trouble at the point guard spot. Even if they sign Lin they really need a backup point guard.

With J.R. Smith and Steve Novak future with the Knicks uncertain the team could use a quality shooter. The Knicks could also use depth at the small forward and power forward position.

Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers have three picks in this year’s draft and they need to draft big. With Spencer Hawes being an free agent the only true center on their roster is Nikola Vucevic. Power forward Elton Brand is on the down side and Lavoy Allen is still coming into his own.

The 76ers have a lot of backcourt depth but they are lacking a true shooter. Last year as a team the 76ers only shoot 30 % from behind the arch. The 76ers could also use a true back up point guard this would allow Lou Williams to play more at shooting guard.

Toronto Raptors

The Raptors are pretty set for next season as they don’t have a lot of free agents. They have three picks in this year’s draft including the 8th overall pick. Last year’s 1st round pick Jonas Valanciunas is expected to join the Raptors this season.

They have ton of athletic ability on the wing but they could use really use a deadly shooter to the mix. The Raptors could also draft a point guard of the future to Jose Calderon. Toronto also could add a talented small forward to the mix as well as a physical inside player.
