NBA players union to dissolve, sue league; season in jeopardy

The NBA is on the verge of what commissioner David Stern called a “nuclear winter.”
National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) executive director Billy Hunter said Monday the union has decided to end the collective bargaining process (CBA) with the NBA and will soon file an antitrust lawsuit against the league.
As a result, a bitter 137-day NBA lockout will continue and a 2011-12 season that has yet to start is suddenly near extinction.
