Game 4 preview: I will tell you why this is a must win situation for the Bulls.
With Miami Heat up in the series 2-1, game 4 in the United Center is a must-win situation for the Chicago Bulls.
No team wants to go down in a series 3-1, especially with the 5th game of the series being an away game. But if the Bulls were to lose today they will find themselves in a situation where only 8 teams in the history of the NBA have come back from. Oh by the way they are playing a Miami Heat team who won 66 regular season games out of the 82 they played.
When it rains it pours, and the bad news for the Bulls continues. According to an article on NBA.com the Bulls will be without veteran guard Kirk Hinrich and all-star forward Luol Deng for tonights game 4 matchup. That is also assuming former MVP guard Derrick Rose won’t be suiting up either.
As the bad news for the Bulls keeps piling up, the NBA awarded one of the Miami Heat players with an All-NBA first team defensive player honor. That player was 2013 MVP Lebron James; who you may have heard of. But if you didn’t,he’s probably one of the best basketball players on the planet, and according to the NBA voters, he plays really good defense too.
Closing out the list of the 2013 All-NBA Defensive team was Memphis guard Tony Allen who was also the leading vote getter, Clippers guard Chris Paul, Thunder forward Serge Ibaka, Knicks center Tyson Chandler and Bulls center Joakim Noah. 2013 Defensive player of the year winner Marc Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies made the All-NBA Defensive second team, which doesn’t make sense to me. How can you win the defensive player of the year award but not be on the All-NBA defensive first team?
Back to tonights game though, where I believe the Heat will pull away from the Bulls in a 92-84 victory. There is just too much talent on the Miami Heat side whereas most of the talent from the Chicago Bulls side is dressed in street clothes. Or professional clothes for David Sterns matter, but you get the point. Expect a close game throughout, but the Miami Heat will eventually pull away.
