The Celtics added some much needed depth to their depleted backcourt prior to Thursday’s trade deadline when they acquired guard Jordan Crawford from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Leandro Barbosa.
Barbosa, who signed a one-year deal with the Celts before the season, has an expiring contract and will not play for the remainder of this season due to a torn ACL he suffered...
He seems to be happy.
I had already posted some statistics about Jordan Crawford early in the morning because that deal made too much sense, (CelticsLife: always gives you the fastest updates and insights) but now that it's official I would like to delve more into the subject.
First of all, the Celtics have found the almost perfect replacement for Leandro Barbosa. Jordan Crawford...
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m., and so far nearly every member of the Celtics has been rumored in some sort of trade talks.
That list included Paul Pierce, who was reportedly mentioned in a deal that would send Pierce to Brooklyn in exchange for Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first-round pick.
Pierce, now 35 years old, has spent his entire 14-year NBA career in...
According to David Aldridge, the Celtics traded for Wizards third leading scorer, Jordan Crawford, who recently fell out of the team’s rotation.
Opting for a offense focused on ball distribution, the Wizards have gone 5-3 without the more 1-on-1 styled Crawford. In 43 appearances, the 3rd year guard has averaged 13.2 points, 3.7 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
The Celtics will send...

The last time these teams met, they were holding the longest...

The Nets are offering Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first round pick for Paul Pierce.
Paul Pierce still seems likely to stay put in Boston, but that is not stopping other teams from trying. The Brooklyn Nets, who reportedly were close to acquiring Pierce in a trade last season when the team was in New Jersey, have made another offer for the Celtics captain.
The Nets offered Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first-round draft pick to the Celtics for Pierce, Yahoo...
The Celtics sought MarShon Brooks, Mirza Teletovic, Kris Humphries and two future first round picks for Paul Pierce.
Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said Tuesday before the Celtics' 97-90 loss to the Denver Nuggets that a trade before Thursday's deadline would be unlikely, which may stun a few personnel people around the league.
If the Brooklyn Nets want Josh Smith, Paul Pierce or Ersan Ilyasova, they need to offer a sweeter deal than Kris Humphries and MarShon Brooks. The Nets have shopped the pair to Atlanta, Boston and Milwaukee and, so far, no one is interested.
The play for J-Smoove has long been rumored.

On a night when the scoreboard and shot clock didn't work, the Wizards couldn't getting their timing down all game long. The Wizards went into the All-Star break losing a very winnable game to the Detroit Pistons and looked...
The Nets have offered Marshon Brooks and Kris Humphries along with a first round pick for Paul Pierce. Celtics politely declined. This according to Wojo.
He has more about the KG to the Clippers rumor in that article as well. Sounds like it'd have to be a domino thing where Pierce gets dealt and then KG waives his no-trade clause and accepts the deal.

You knew that the Lakers and their fans would be emotional tonight, and that L.A. would feed off of it, but the Celtics showed little resistance. Call it “tired legs”, second night of a back-to-back, blah blah. Boston just did not play defense tonight. Period. They fall 113-99 on L.A.
As Doc told his troops at halftime, “they’re getting whatever they want..” Couldn’t...
