The Denver Nuggets are saying that big man Nene is day-to-day with a bruised left foot, and there’s no telling how long he’ll be out of action. From the Denver Post: “Nuggets coach George Karl shook his head when he announced that Nene would not be available for Monday night’s game because of a bruised left foot. ‘I’m just sad,’ Karl said. ‘I just want him to have a great year.’ Nene had been solid in the first five games of the season, averaging 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds. He has played much of his time at power forward, with Timofey Mozgov starting at center. Nene is officially listed as day to day. ‘It’s to his foot, so you always have to be a little more cautious to something that’s pounding all of the time,’ Karl said. Nene’s injury forced the Nuggets to play with an altered starting lineup for the first time this season. Kosta Koufos started at Nene’s position alongside Danilo Gallinari, Mozgov, Ty Lawson and Arron Afflalo.”
