BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Brook Lopez scored 20 points and Kris Humphries had 14 points and 21 rebounds for his second double-double of the season, leading the Brooklyn Nets to an 82-74 victory over the Orlando Magic at the Barclays Center Sunday afternoon. Before the weekend, the Nets (3-2) had not defeated the Magic (2-3) in almost three years, dating back to 2009 in a stretch lasting 10 games. But coming off the huge 107-68 win in Orlando Friday night, the Nets have now knocked off the Magic twice in a span of three days. Lopez nailed a lane jumper with 59.1 seconds left that quelled a fourth-quarter run by Orlando. Humphries had a huge block on an attempt from Glen Davis with 29 seconds left to seal the deal. Deron Williams chipped in with 17 points for Brooklyn, while Arron Afflalo had 19 and Davis had 19 for the Magic. The Nets took total command of the game in the last 1:12 of the first quarter, scoring an 11 straight points during that span, and they never relinquished the l...

Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams told GQ Magazine in an interview that he saw a UFO during superstorm Sandy. GQ: Where were you during the hurricane? What was your Sandy experience like? We live in downtown Manhattan, so like everybody else downtown, we lost power around 8 p.m. on Monday, and didn't get it back until the following Saturday. We also had a whole bunch of...
Net fans have been hearing murmurs about this young kid, Tornike Shengelia from the Republic of Georgia, better known as Toko, since he impressed in summer league, averaging 10.2PPG and just about four boards.
With MarShon Brooks out with a sprained ankle last night against the Orlando Magic, and a comfortable 34-point lead, the Nets let the young kid spread his wings a little bit...

The Nets haven’t been able to build true team chemistry yet without forward Gerald Wallace, who suffered a sprained ankle in the season opener against the Toronto Raptors.
Although he was limited, Wallace practiced Monday for the first time since he rolled his ankle 27 seconds away from an opening win against Toronto. He’s scheduled to be available for Thursday’s...
Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson posted his pregame look on Sunday before the Nets took on the Orlando Magic. Johnson has been struggling with his shot as of late but managed to score 13 points to help the Nets defeat the Magic 82-74. But the real question, how do we feel about Joe’s game day [...]
Post-game Reaction: Brooklyn Nets 107, Orlando Magic 68. “It was a good win” Avery Johnson said, the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets after Brooklyn's dominating 39 point victory over Orlando. The Nets ran out of the gates quickly jumping out to a quick 8 point lead 12-4, after Brook Lopez set the tone early,
Orlando was very much in a race against Brooklyn. Time was not on its side after digging a 22-point deficit in the first quarter and looking like a Friday repeat was on the way. Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries and Reggie Evans dominated the offensive glass, getting the Nets plenty of extra possessions to build the lead.
The Magic were not going to lay down again. They were not going...
Mikhail Prokhorov has shown the world the extent of his super-human talents. From turning the fall of the U.S.S.R. into capitalist gold and moving a whole basketball franchise from New Jersey to Brooklyn in a single bound, the obscenely wealthy playboy is worthy of some kind of Tony Stark-type notoriety.
Now, you can add comic-book star to the Brooklyn Nets owner list of accomplishments...

With significant court time of 34 minutes (he had previously been averaging a mere 22:30 MPG), Kris Humphries scored 14 points, 21 rebounds (6 offensive and 15 defensive) and 1 block. I think Kris will have a very productive season, both for his own team and for your fantasy teams. That’s not really an outrageous statement, but he still remains unowned in 18% of Yahoo! leagues...
