ORLANDO -- The Brooklyn Nets looked more like the playoff team they are expecting to become this season while the Orlando Magic looked like a team heading to the lottery. Evidence of that occured when the Nets blasted the Magic 107-68 Friday night. The Nets, who were coming off a 30-point loss against the host Miami Heat on Wednesday, got five players in double figures and scoring from all 13 players on the roster. Nets reserve Andray Blatche led the way with 15 points and nine rebounds. Starting center Brook Lopez, who was almost traded to Orlando over the summer, had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Joe Johnson had 13 points and Deron Williams 12. "This was a good win for us," Nets coach Avery Johnson said. "We needed a bounce-back game, and fortunately the ball bounced our way. We'll see what we can string together now." The Magic, which lost its third consecutive game after two opening victories, got 18 points from point guard E'Twaun Moore but li...

Deron Williams: I saw a UFO during Hurricane Sandy

Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams told GQ Magazine in an interview that he saw a UFO during superstorm Sandy.   GQ: Where were you during the hurricane? What was your Sandy experience like? We live in downtown Manhattan, so like everybody else downtown, we lost power around 8 p.m. on Monday, and didn't get it back until the following Saturday. We also had a whole bunch of...

Nets' Deron Williams saw a UFO during Sandy

This just in. Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams claims to have seen a UFO over New York City during superstorm Sandy. That's right. A real life UFO. Here's the snippet from his interview with GQ Magazine in which Williams explains:GQ: Was there a particular "New York moment" during the Hurricane? Did you see something that'd made you think, "That'd...

Same Old Nets

The Brooklyn Nets moved to a new arena in a new city, but the start of the season has that same old Nets feel. The slow-starting Nets we remember from New Jersey may have crossed the Hudson disguised as a new team from Brooklyn. The Nets fell to 1-2 on the season Wednesday night, losing by [...]

Nets-Magic Preview

The front offices of the Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets conversed plenty during the Dwight Howard saga that lasted into August, though a trade agreement never was reached. Each new-look squad is still finding its footing without him, but Orlando hopes the recent on-court history between the clubs remains in its favor. The Magic seek their 11th straight victory over the Nets as...

Doc Rivers Sympathizes With Mike Brown After Getting Fired By Magic 11 Games Into Season

BOSTON — Doc Rivers has been there. He has been dismissed as the head coach of an NBA team less than a month into the season, and he can tell from experience that it is not very fun. When Mike Brown was fired by the Lakers on Friday, a whole five games into the season, Rivers immediately came to mind. Rivers was only four years removed from winning the NBA’s Coach of the Year...

Nets 107, Magic 68

Andray Blatche had 15 points, Brook Lopez added 14 points and 10 rebounds and the Brooklyn Nets beat the Orlando Magic 107-68 Friday night. The Nets dominated inside, with Lopez and Blatche pushing around...

Jameer nelson remains questionable

No offense to E'Twaun Moore. Moore has played extremely well in his four starts this season and has been able to pace the Magic with 14.6 points and 4.0 assists per game. Things with the Magic though are not the same without Jameer Nelson. Nelson strained his groin and hamstring in the season-opening win over Denver. Orlando has not seen Nelson since. While his modest nine...

Mikhail Prokhorov gets his own comic-book

Mikhail Prokhorov has shown the world the extent of his super-human talents.  From turning the fall of the U.S.S.R. into capitalist gold and moving a whole basketball franchise from New Jersey to Brooklyn in a single bound, the obscenely wealthy playboy  is worthy of some kind of Tony Stark-type notoriety. Now, you can add comic-book star to the Brooklyn Nets owner list of accomplishments...
