Found November 29, 2012 on NY Sports Nut:
The Brooklyn Nets aren’t surprised they’re tied with the New York Knicks for best record in the Atlantic. The Nets have a lot of fight in them, literally and figuratively. After smacking around the senior citizen, Boston Celtics, the Nets lead all teams in the Atlantic division for the first time since Jason Kidd wore their other uniform. Unlike their crosstown rivals, the Nets are doing this with a combined all around effort. You can’t single out one aspect of this Nets team, in hopes of finding their key to success. The phrase “complete team” will start to come into play as the season continues. Deron Williams has played spectacular basketball for Brooklyn this season. Brook Lopez continues to prove the Nets didn’t need to acquire Dwight Howard. Joe Johnson, an acquisition that was questioned in the beginning, is excelling at the shooting guard position. Williams is tied for 4th amongst NBA point guards in assists, averaging 8.8 dimes this season. Williams is the orchestrator for this Nets team and he’s done a stellar job meshing the pieces together every night. Raymond Felton’s horrendous shooting performance, could be correlated to the energy he exuded guarding Williams. Gerald Wallace recently returned to this Nets team and showed no ill effects of the ankle injury that sidelined him opening night. The Nets needed their defensive guru against Miami, and that may be the only reason the Nets were blown out that night. Kris Humphries mind may be on his pending divorce hearings, but the issue hasn’t deviated his play on the court. Every team needs a player who averages more rebounds than points on the roster, the Knicks have none. Is it safe to say the Nets run this town? After the victory over the Knicks, part owner Jay-Z went to twitter and said, “New York is under new management”. It was retweeted 7,000 times. Think about this for a moment, the Knicks had one of their best starts in the history of the franchise. Why are the Nets on top of the division? Well it is pretty easy to explain. The Nets have a point guard who distributes the rock unselfishly. Every player on this Nets team makes an effort to rebound the basketball. Most importantly, the Nets do it all as a team. I don’t see the Nets fizzling anytime soon. At this point, only catastrophic injuries could hinder their already promising season. The Brooklyn Nets even threw Slick Rick off a little bit. A Few Random Thoughts on Celtics/Nets Fight

First of all this sets up a pretty heated Christmas Day game right off the bat. It should get some good ratings. You have to wonder if the league wanted to set up a rivalry between these two teams for ratings purposes. Yes, I know I'm getting into tinfoil hat areas here, but I can't help but wonder.  In the first outing between the Celtics and the Nets,  Keith Bogans...
