Nets' Kyrie Irving to miss third straight game due to personal reasons

Managing Kyrie Irving has been difficult for every one of his head coaches. Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash is experiencing that first-hand early this season.

Irving has missed the Nets' last two games against the Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies due to "personal reasons." He was listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but The Athletic's Shams Charania reports that Irving will miss his third straight game.

It's unclear what personal issues Irving might be facing.

Irving has been stellar in seven games this season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game while shooting 50.4% from the field and 42.6% from deep.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant will return to action Sunday after missing the last three games due to COVID-19 protocols. The 32-year-old is averaging 28.2 points, seven rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 51.4% from the field and 45.5% from deep.
