New Jersey Nets owner Bruce Ratner is getting feedback from individuals who are interested in buying a minority stake in the ownership of the franchise. But, Ratner is finding it’s tough to do this whenever the past two years consisted of the loss of its big-market players such as Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter, a total record of 75-89 and a struggle to stay afloat in tough economic times.
With all of the before mentioned reasons and a weakening fan base, the New Jersey Nets plan to move to Brooklyn in 2011.
Ratner bought the Nets in 2004, a year after they reached the NBA Finals, he continued the success with his team making it to the playoffs in first two seasons. In his past two seasons, when the Nets didn’t even make the playoffs, he has seen a big drop in attendance.
Even though everything seems to have gone against him, Ratner has shown no interest in selling the franchise.
