You cannot blame Billy King for being obsessive about this trade. After all, everyone knows that the New Jersey Nets will be unable to land Dwight Howard in free agency next summer, so their best shot is to trade for him now and lock him up long term, then they can turn their attention towards a new deal with PG Deron Williams.
It is rumored that King has not only a 3-team deal planned, but he also has a 4-team trade scenario worked out as the NBA trade deadline approaches. However, nobody knows what other teams are involved in these possible transactions.
The Nets were close to landing thr Orlando Magic star center back in December, but key trade piece, Brook Lopez, was injured. This ended any possible deal at the time. Nearing a return to the court, Lopez will once again be just one piece of the puzzle to gain the services of Howard.
The All-Star game is being played in Orlando this weekend, so expect much talk be about the possible trade destinations for D-Ho.
