Well so much for starting the season 3-0, as New Orleans suffered their first loss of the season falling 93-78 to the visiting Phoenix Suns.  Once again Eric Gordon sat out due to his bruised knee, they certainly could have used him in the lineup.  The offense was just downright terrible.  As a team, the Hornets shot 28.9% hitting only 26 of the 90 shots taken.  Yet despite the atrocious shooting effort the Hornets somehow kept within’ striking distance for a majority of the game.  Carl Landry dropped in 17 points to lead New Orleans going 6 of 16 from the field and hitting on all 5 free throw attempts.  Emeka Okafor was a beast gathering 16 rebounds and chipped in 10 points for a double double.  The only player that shot the ball well was Jason Smith off the bench hitting on 4 of 9 field goal attempts for a mere 8 points off the bench.  Jarrett Jack took some poor shots and ended up with 12 points on 6 of 20 shooting.  Overall it was just a very poor shooting effort for the e...
