New York Knicks: A Bold Trade For Steve Nash By Mike Elworth: Owner and Publisher/Hoopstuff… Trading one team’s garbage for another’s happens all of the time in the NBA, but this trade would be arguably the most recognizable trash trade in NBA history. This would be trading a 2 time MVP for a player who was the 1st pick in an NBA Draft and this offseason the New York Knicks should trade Andrea Bargnani to the Los Angeles Lakers for Steve Nash. Report: Lakers to keep Steve Nash through next year

The question with the Lakers as it pertains to often-injured point guard Steve Nash is whether to bite bullet on his $9.7 million salary for next year in the last year of his contract or use the stretch provision afforded in the CBA to waive him (spreading his money out over multiple seasons but removing him from the cap).
