Another injury has forced Marcus Vinicius off the UFC on FX 8 card in Brazil, where he was scheduled to face Yuri Alcantara. Alcantara will now welcome debuting Iliarde Santos to the UFC instead. The UFC announced the switch earlier today.
Yuri Alcantara was on a 13 fight win streak, including two wins in the UFC, before having his streak broken by Hacran Dias. The Brazilian later faced Pedro Nobre, where he lost a controversial disqualification after Nobre claimed to have been hit in the back of the head and unable to continue. Now Alcantara will be looking to get back to his winning ways with a strong performance against the debuting Santos.
Iliarde Santos is 27-6 in his professional career and went undefeated in 2012 with six straight wins. The majority of his win’s have come by way of stoppage and he will be looking to add to that record on May 18.
UFC on FX 8 takes place May 18 at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil.
