Orlando may contain the happiest place on earth (a meth den a mile from Interstate 4), but for the Magic, the season has been a little less than magical. Nevertheless, fans took some joy last night when the team flew into L.A. and beat the struggling Lakers and their former hero, Dwight Howard. Going toe toe to toe with the big man was none other than Nikola Vucevic, who double doubled with 17/12 plus an assist and 4 blocks. Glad I didn’t drop him the night before! Oh, I did. I guess that’s all it took to see him play more than 30 minutes and dominate on defense (p.s. – it was a shallow league I dropped him in). He has been good for a block and half and a steal and a half per night, but his rebounding really was not up to snuff for a center. A couple of weeks ago, he was gifting fantasy owners double digit rebounds, so hopefully he is back on track.
Marcin Gortat – He played 41 1/2 minutes, 7 more than his nearest teammate and about 15-20 more than everyone else. From the hands of t...
BEST OF MAXIM
Dwight Howard isn’t known for his skills on offense. It basically consists of being able to get the ball low on the block and dunking or performing the Mikan Drill. Howard is so bad as a shooter that he actually lost a FT and 3pt-shooting contest to the mascot for the Los Angeles Kings. Yes, [...]
Dwight Howard says he's happy with the Lakers. Very.
But he won't commit to staying with them past this season.
"We're not going to talk about it," he said Saturday. "We're not getting into that."
He's sticking with the recent trend established by LeBron James, Chris Bosh and, this season, Chris Paul. Howard is another All-Star in the last...
Dwight Howard continues to struggle at the free throw line, but he and Mike D'Antoni believe it is a non-issue.
‘I don’t care if your d*ck is 3x bigger than mine, Dwight Howard. I can hit 70% of my free throws.’ @MedicatedMinute and other Lakers fans are not happy with how their season is unfolding. At 8-10 and 12th in the West, all of the Lakers fans who were guaranteeing championships back in August are suddenly quiet.
The Lakers lost last night 107-105 to the Houston Rockets...
Jameer Nelson, who’s a game-time decision (tendinitis) vs. the Lakers, was asked at this morning’s shootaround what it will be like to see former teammate Dwight Howard play for the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. Playing alongside each other for eight seasons, Howard and Nelson were once close, and while the Magic point guard had nothing negative to say about Howard, he implied...
The Magic defeated the Lakers by a final score of 113-103 in Dwight Howard's first game against his former team.
PAU RIGHT IN THE KISSER
The Lakers star apparently is extremely frustrated with his teammate, saying the following to reporters about Gasol: "Put your big boy pants on."
Dwight Howard said he's happy with the Los Angeles Lakers but wont commit to staying with the organization past this season. "We're not going to talk about it," Howard said Saturday to the Los Angeles Times. "We're not getting into that." Click Link To Read More! There was something different about the night of Sunday, December 2, 2012. Something that is a rarity in modern day professional athletics. Sometimes there are not rational explanations for why unexpected events occur. The numbers do not always tell the entire story and you do not play a basketball game on paper. The only numbers that really mattered on this night were 113 and...
Sunday is going to be a weird day for Magic fans.
In one sense it will be extremely cathartic -- the object of hatred for much of the past nine months will be front and center on the TV screen. Venom can be unleashed on Twitter and schadenfreude (taking pleasure in other people's pain) can be expressed in a very real manner. Let's not even go into the feelings should...
Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day.
1: Magic had something to prove
Jameer Nelson was maybe the only guy willing to admit what Sunday's 113-103 win against Dwight Howard the Lakers actually meant. While Jacque Vaughn called it just another game and Glen Davis siad he was not worried about what Dwight Howard was...
HOUSTON -- In complete control for the majority of Tuesday's game, the Los Angeles Lakers collapsed down the stretch and watched the Houston Rockets swipe an improbable 107-105 victory at Toyota Center on Tuesday night. It was not the way the Lakers hoped to open a three-game road trip. The Rockets (9-8) trailed by as many as 17 points and didn't take their first lead...
The Los Angeles Lakers badly need a victory Wednesday night considering the location of the final stop of this week's road trip.
The Lakers will try to avoid their second three-game skid and could again be without Pau Gasol as they take on the New Orleans Hornets.
Los Angeles (8-10) led by as many as 17 points and was still up 13 in the fourth quarter before falling 107-105...
