Washington-wizards-draft
The Washington Wizards’ abysmal season last year was overshadowed by an even worse one from the Charlotte Bobcats. This year, they are taking center stage with only four wins so far. They have been playing without point guard John Wall, but you have to wonder how big of a difference he could possibly make. The good news for the Wizards is that with all the bad seasons they have been having, they have built up some high draft picks. The bad news? Well, they have pretty much gone to waste. Most notably Jan Vesely, who the Wizards took with the sixth overall pick in 2011. Vesely STILL has more fouls than points on the year. (Don’t believe me? It’s 54-49, I promise) Bradley Beal (third overall, 2012) is in his rookie season so it is too early to make a real judgment on him. Wall (first overall, 2010) is going to take a big step back in his development after sitting out an extended period of time. But the point is that the Wizards are not a young team playing towa...

John Wall Practices For First Time This Season

Washington Wizards guard John Wall, out since Sept. 28 with a stress injury in his left knee cap, moved closer to returning by participating in limited contact drills during Thursday’s practice. Stan Van Gundy: John wall isn’t good enough for Wizards to build around

One of the reasons the Washington Wizards are off to such a poor start again this season has been the absence of John Wall. A team isn’t going to win many games without its best player, and Washington has won only four of its 29 with Wall having been sidelined with a knee injury for the entire season. To say that the Wizards are missing the former Kentucky star would be an epic...

Two rookie guards stood out last month among their first year brethren, as the Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal and the Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month for December. Beal lead all Eastern Conference rookies in scoring (13.4 ppg) and total assists with (41) in December.  He had six games with 15-plus...

Wall Returns To Practice For First Time

Stan Van Gundy: John Wall Not Good Enough To Build Around

The former NBA coach and current NBA analyst was on ESPN 980′s The Sports Reporters last week, and was asked if the Wizards have the talent in place to improve. “You know, I don’t see it, to be honest,” Van Gundy said. “I’d love to tell you you’re two years away; I really don’t [see it]. That roster doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I know they’ll be better when...
