Ty Lawson Returns; Denver Nuggets Defeat Detroit Pistons

I’ve been waiting for Ty Lawson to “come home” all season, and this may have been the one game in which he did so; he was aware for most — if not the entire game — not to mention, he was effective in every facet of the game. On a not when other starters had [...]The post Ty Lawson Returns; Denver Nuggets Defeat Detroit Pistons appeared first on The NBA Mistress.

George Karl: Carmelo Anthony is going to win a championship someday

George Karl has not had many good things to say about Carmelo Anthony since the Denver Nuggets traded him to the New York Knicks two seasons ago. Many have painted Carmelo as a selfish player who is unwilling to buy into the team mentality, and Karl has done nothing to change that perception. However, the Nuggets coach recently praised Anthony for changing his game. “I’ve said...

Comments on Love and Denver Game Thread

Tonight after what seemed like six years off, the Wolves take it to Target Center tonight in Ricky Rubio's would-have-been season debut. The Nuggets, long thought to be Western Conference contenders, are quietly right on par with the Wolves at an underwhelming 11-11 despite the team being generally injury-free for most of the season. This game marks a bit of a deja vu game, as...

Jrue Holiday Made Brandon Knight Look Dumb With a Killer Crossover (Video)

Last night the Philadelphia 76ers balled up the Detroit Pistons 104-97 on the scoreboard and on the shelf life of their ankles. Jrue Holiday was bring the ball up court in the 3rd quarter when he gave Brandon Knight a killer crossover.  It caused Knight to go to the ground, so all we can say to him is, "looking like a fool with your pants on the ground."  Check out the...

A slow second half start dooms Pistons in Philadelphia

Monday night the Pistons were looking to sweep multi-game road trip for the first time in five years when they traveled to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center. Wolves Wednesday: Old friends meet as rivals

MINNEAPOLIS It's been 18 years since two little boys on Andrews Air Force base began playing basketball together. It's been 18 years, AAU squad after AAU squad, colleges, five NBA teams, and now, improbably, those two little boys are about to face off yet again as pros. There's no way to calculate the odds of Dante Cunningham and Ty Lawson's friendship. Sure, plenty...

Pistons unable to close out Nuggets after fast start

For most teams a 21-4 advantage in the first quarter would probably translate into a win or at the very least a lead at halftime. This was exactly the case for the Pistons Tuesday night as they jumped out to an early 21-4 lead in the first quarter dominating in all aspects. However a second quarter in which Detroit got outscored 31-17 translating to a 48-42 disadvantage at the half...
