Point guard Erick Green fought through an exhaustive schedule in the last year to prove he belongs on an NBA roster — the Nuggets' roster — and now he's played his way in.
Green will sign a contract with the Nuggets, a source confirmed, and will be with the team when training camp starts in the fall. Green was a second-round pick in the 2013 NBA draft out of Virginia Tech. His rights were traded to the Nuggets from Utah but he did not latch on. He played last season in Italy.
The Nuggets had a need for a third point guard, and the high-scoring Green is well-equipped to fit that role. With him in the fold, the Nuggets now have 14 guaranteed contracts on the team. The deal was first reported by Eurohoops.
