Jeremy Lamb is one of the key players the Thunder organization are highlighting this summer. Today was a big day for the Oklahoma City Thunder. NBA Summer League opened up in Orlando today with a matchup with the Indiana Pacers. The game was definitely a great sign for OKC. They won the game 76 – 68. Although this was just the first game and happens to only be Summer League, there were glimpses of promise with some of the players as they performed well. Ultimately, these games have little meaning due to the fact that the superstars and all-stars do not play. Additionally, the start of the season is nearly four months away. But for the guys who are looking to make the roster or even show that they could contribute off the bench for the upcoming season, this is as big as the NBA Finals. The Thunder had a few players bring a strong performance to the floor tonight. The Thunder’s starting five was Dwight Buycks, Jeremy Lamb, DeAndre Liggins, Grant Jerret, and Daniel Orton. Most fans will probably be most familiar with former UCONN standout Jeremy Lamb, who won the 2011 National Championship alongside Charlotte Bobcats guard Kemba Walker. DeAndre Liggins also carries a well- known name as he was an important contributor to the 2011 Final Four Kentucky Wildcats under Coach John Calipari. Speaking of Kentucky, Orton also played his lone college season with the Wildcats in 2009-2010 season as a reserve. Dwight Buycks is a point guard out of Marquetta and Grant Jerret was the 40th overall pick in this year’s draft out of Arizona. Grant Jerret led the way tonight with 17 points and also blocked three shots. He converted on four of his five attempts from behind the arc. He definitely out played the other Thunder that were selected in this year’s draft. Seeing that he went in the second round and didn’t get as much publicity as the higher picks, Jerret seemed to carry a chip on his shoulder during his great shooting show. Jeremy Lamb had himself a good floor game as he also added 14 points (led team with 9 at half). He connected on a highlight play of the game with a pick and roll involving Steven Adams, the 12th overall pick in the 2013 Draft. Lamb and Adams connected on a alley-oop play that sparked the Thunder. The very next possession was when the former Connecticut star got a steal and a dunk. Buycks had the best game stats wise as he put up 12 points and 13 assists in the box score. Daniel Orton also poured in 15 points. Steven Adams only basket happened to be the alley-oop from Lamb. The alley-oop was pretty impressive as it showed Adams athleticism as he jumped through and over an Indiana defender. He also contributed 6 rebounds but was found to be real loose with the basketball in the post. A performance that might not get as much praise was fro Kyle Kuric as he ran off 8 straight points, including 2 three-points in the fourth quarter to help the Thunder establish a lead. The Thunder can be really pleased by the things they saw tonight. Maybe they will be able to find a key contributor for this upcoming season. If not, it would be great to see the future of the organization. Great team win!

Perry Jones III is unlikely to participate in the Orlando Pro Summer League with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jones underwent an oral procedure this week to remedy an infection. The Thunder added Ryan Reid to the Summer League Roster.

Kevin Durant finally found Miss Wright. Monica Wright, a backup guard/forward for the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, and Durant, the Oklahoma City Thunder star, became engaged over the weekend. Wright and Durant originally met in high school, when they were both top recruits traveling around to national showcase tournaments. Their romance seems to have blossomed. Kevin Durant and Lynx' Monica Wright engaged

Apparently, that Twin Cities appearance by Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant back in May was more than a friendly visit. After scoring a season-high 17 points Sunday night in Minnesota's 91-59 victory over Phoenix, Lynx guard Monica Wright confirmed to reporters Durant requested her hand in marriage. The four-time NBA All-Star popped the question Saturday night, hoping...

Jeremy Lamb, Thunder cross up Magic defense

Jeremy Lamb was not having a great shooting day for the Thunder. Confidence though is all about taking the next shot. And Lamb is not short on that. Even late in a game where his team was trailing for much of it -- in Summer League, no less -- and needed timely shooting to get there. The Thunder found their offense and Lamb found his shot in the end. Lamb blew by Victor Oladipo...

Oklahoma City’s Kyle Kuric epically misses uncontested end-of-game lay-up against Magic

I have a sinking suspicion that Oklahoma City’s Kyle Kuric would like this end-of-game lay-up back against the Orlando Magic at the Orlando Summer League. As the Thunder lead by one with less than 7 seconds to play, Thunder guard Jeremy Lamb took the ball from Andrew Nicholson and threw it ahead to Kuric for the uncontested lay-up. That’s when Kuric blew his open lay-up and gave...
