Omer Asik For Courtney Lee Does Not Make Sense

Omer Asik is an asset to the Chicago Bulls Sure the Bulls could use an upgrade at the 2 guard spot, but Lee isn’t the answer. Lee is very similar to Ronnie Brewer in my mind. I don’t think you’d see very big improvement. I know a lot of you would say, “Well at least he’ll be taking minutes away from Keith Bogans!” While that is true, adding Lee does not make sense for a for a few reasons: 1. You Have To Give Up Asik You never trade big for small in the NBA unless you’re getting a great deal. Lee for Asik is pretty much a wash in terms of talent and upside. The tie breaker goes to the center. Size is a prized commodity in this league, and Asik is the only legit 7 footer we have on the roster. 2. Front Court Depth Kind of just expanding on the first point… Without Asik you’re left with Noah who will be slow coming off an injury and 38 year old Big Sexy Kurt Thomas as you’re centers.
