Kris Humphries has grabbed headlines all year long, but finally, today’s news is actually noteworthy. In a move that took longer than I thought, the Nets finally re-signed The Humph to a one-year deal worth approximately $7 million to $8 million. Humphries is expected to dress and even play in the game, meaning that both teams will be close to full strength. That doesn’t necessarily mean both squads will play like they’re in midseason form, it just promises better basketball. This turns out to be a great deal for the Nets. The one-year contract ensures that the team will have space under the salary cap when the season ends, giving GM Billy King and the Nets’ brass wiggle room as they pursue the league’s top free agents during the summer of 2012....

This has me perplexed. Just the fact that Humphries is in the poll is amazing.  In 2010 if you asked 100 causal NBA fans who was Kris Humphries, I doubt more than 25 knew who he was and even the ones that did couldn’t name what team he played for. Even die hard NBA fans ever gave him a passing thought. As we enter into 2012 he is one of the most recognizable faces of the league...
