Knicks’ MozgovOne player to keep an eye on during Thursday’s elimination game between Team USA and Russia is center Timofey Mozgov(notes), who had been one of international basketball’s top free agents for the last few years before signing with the Knicks in July. Mozgov, 24, has been Russia’s most productive player of the World Championship. The 7-1 center has averaged 12.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in just 17.8 minutes per game, and is shooting 63.8 percent from the field. He followed an 18-point performance against Greece with a 16-point, seven-rebound effort in Russia’s elimination win over New Zealand. Mozgov told Hoopshype.com that he hopes to play 10-15 minutes per game for the Knicks next year, and noted that he has already had a sit-down with coach Mike D’Antoni. Yahoo!
