George Hill, Indiana’s highest-scoring bench player, went down Tuesday night with a chip fracture in his left ankle. Hill will remain on the bench with the injury for an indefinite amount of time. The Pacers rallied regardless in Hill’s absence, defeating the New Jersey Nets 106-99. Deron Williams scored 34 points and Anthony Morrow scored 28, but the Nets got little help from anywhere else on the team.
Despite being outscored 27-22 in the fourth quarter, and shooting only 26-36 from the free throw line, Indiana held on to secure the victory late in the game. Paul George led the team with 24 points, and Danny Granger scored 21 points. Roy Hibbert put up 18 points to go along with 14 rebounds and four blocked shots, achieving his ninth double-double of the season. The Pacers as a team had seven blocked shots for the game.
