INDIANAPOLIS -- The Miami Heat may have the best record in the Eastern Conference, but the Indiana Pacers proved again they don't have any fear of the defending NBA champions. The Pacers beat the Heat for the second time this season, 102-89, in front of a sellout crowd at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Friday. "Really proud of our guys for playing with great intensity and focus for 48 minutes," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "They are a great team and you have to play great to beat them." The Pacers have won 13 straight at home, their longest streak since the 2002-03 season. Pacers forward David West set the tempo for his team by scoring 30 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Paul George had 15 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Pacers, and Lance Stephenson added 15 points. The Pacers aren't sugarcoating the win. They didn't look at Friday's victory as just any other victory. They know it means a lot because of whom they beat and...
BEST OF MAXIM
LeBron James may be arguably the best player in the NBA today, but he is not the highest paid. In fact, he’s not even in the top 10 this season. LeBron will make $17.5 million this season, which is tied for 13th in the league and more than $10 million less than the $27.8 million Kobe Bryant will make. LeBron took less money to go to the Miami Heat for a chance to play with Dwyane...
Pacers coach Frank Vogel says Danny Granger could be back on the court before the All-Star break in mid-February.
Granger has been out all season with a patellar tendinosis in his left knee, but was cleared to participate in full contact practice for the first time Thursday. Vogel says he worked for 20 minutes in half-court sets.
In early November, the Pacers said Granger could...
The Miami Herald briefly addressed the reports that LeBron James is considering a return to Cleveland. The Hearald's blog quoted a close associate of King James' saying LeBron's Ohio-based agent won't influence his 2014 decision. From the Herald:
“LeBron is his own man, and Rich [Paul] only cares about what LeBron wants,”
the associate insisted. “LeBron...
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Indiana did it again Friday night.
And this time, the Pacers beat Miami at its own game.
David West scored 30 points, Paul George added 17 and Indiana became the second team to beat the defending champs twice this season with a 102-89 victory.
The Pacers (28-19) have won 13 in a row at home and two straight since ending a three-game losing streak earlier this...
David West talks after Pacers beat Heat.
There are lot of things to be mad at in the world. Not being able to watch the Super Bowl because you have to work and make hundreds of thousands of dollars while doing it isn’t one of those things to complain about. Apparently LeBron James didn’t get that memo, [...]
LeBron James is more worried about winning than being the NBA's highest-paid player. At least that's what he told reporters in Indianapolis after a shootaround in preparation for Friday night's game against the Pacers. When James left Cleveland for Miami in 2010, he took less money in order to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in hopes of winning a title, which...

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have played some of their best basketball against Chris Bosh's former team, and the Miami Heat have yet to drop a meeting with Toronto since the three joined forces.
They've yet to face a Raptors squad featuring Rudy Gay, though.
The Heat seek a 10th straight victory in this series Sunday as they conclude...
James’ agent and childhood friend, Rich Paul, born and raised and still living in Cleveland, has been privately telling people for two years of his intrigue with bringing the prodigal son back as the conquering hero in Cleveland. James will ultimately make the call to return – just like he made it to leave – rest assured that the most important voices in his ear will be partial...
If he’s not worried then why justify it?
