There may be some fans out there who believe San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker deserves the NBA's Most Valuable Player award at the end of the regular season, but all of the fan base can agree raising the Larry O'Brien trophy as the last team standing in June is the most important accomplishment. If it's up to Tony Parker, he has a different dream scenario lined up for his career and it doesn't involve the MVP trophy. Jeff Zillgitt recently wrote an article on what Parker commented to USA Today Sports. Tony Parker recently told USA TODAY Sports that he wants to win an NBA title in June then follow that up with a Eurobasket title for France, which finished second to Spain in 2011. While Parker's sights may also be on a Eurobasket title, the first thing he wants to win is an NBA championship again. Parker now has an attitude of being one of the best players in the world over just looking to dominate the NBA. That can be clear with his MVP worthy season and he's only getting better as he's shooting three more free throws than last month. That's a big accomplishment since Parker won Western Conference Player of the Month for January and only playing better as the months go by. Parker's national team of France seems to have a good group to make the second part of his wish come true as they'll be paired alongside Ukraine, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, and Belgium. Spain also faces the possibility of not playing with its big man in Pau Gasol, who is out with an injury right now for the Los Angeles Lakers. This could be Parker's biggest year of his entire career if he can pull this off. While he's won a Finals MVP in 2007, this team was still viewed as Tim Duncan's team and some viewed it as the best matchup for Parker, who dominated the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is the first time Parker has really taken the reigns of the Spurs and it looks like he's going big with his accomplishments. If Parker can indeed win an NBA championship while carrying the team and a Eurobasket title, there'd be no question that Parker would now be the lone player viewed as the new cornerstone of the San Antonio Spurs. What do you Spurs fans think about Parker's goals for this year?

Tony Parker To Sit 'Out A While' With Sprained Ankle

Tony Parker has had a career season for the Spurs while cementing himself as an MVP candidate.

Tony Parker Injures Ankle In Friday’s Win

The Spurs got the 130-102 win over the Kings Friday night, but they lost All-Star point guard, Tony Parker to an ankle injury in the third quarter after a made layup that could sideline him a couple of weeks. According to Spurs Nation: Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Parker would likely be out “a while” after rolling his left ankle on Sacramento guard Isaiah Thomas’ foot following...

Video: From hardwood to catwalk, Parker gained more than basketball knowledge from parents

As soon as Tony Parker was drafted in 2001 by the San Antonio Spurs and appeared onstage with David Stern, two things were likely apparent to most immediately. The Spurs likely had to do some major overseas scouting to pluck this kid from Paris Basket Racing in France, and, during an event known for it's terrible style choices, bad color combos and whatever you call what Karl...

Parker injured in Spurs’ blowout of Kings

Leading by 36 points at one time on Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs didn’t celebrate their 130-102 rout of the Sacramento Kings with too much excitement. The reason being, the Spurs would have probably taken either a loss or a close game instead of losing their best player, All-Star point guard Tony Parker. “He’ll be out a while,” said Spurs head coach Gregg...

Bad news for San Antonio Spurs fans and Parker for MVP supporters, alike, as Parker has now been diagnosed with an ankle sprain. Video: Parker Finds Duncan Under Basket

Tony Parker is getting used to making plays like this as the playmaker of the San Antonio Spurs. Parker gives a nifty pass to a wide open Tim Duncan right under the basket with the Phoenix Suns lost on defense. Duncan also shows off a creative finish under the rim, something not usually seen from Spurs fans throughout this career. Although the Spurs lost in overtime to the...

Ginobili says Parker is NBA's Best Point Guard

Depending on who you ask, there'll be three or four names named as who should be NBA's Most Valuable Player and San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker's name should pop up there in the discussion. In the discussion on who's the best point guard in the league, that should be an easier conversation that would be broken down into possibly two players. For Manu Ginobili...

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Kings

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker and Sacramento Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas highlight the matchup of the game tonight. Isaiah Thomas had a 22 point and 4 assist game last time these two teams met with an impressive 60% (6-10) field goal shooting. He also got to the line and made 8-8 on free throw attempts, but that couldn't stop the Spurs from taking a high scoring...

Spurscast #285: Parker's rank among NBA point guards and who the Spurs should fear in the West

This week's episode of the Spurscast is my first attempt as host. Hopefully I'll be cranking these out on a weekly basis, so look forward to many more to come. My fellow Project Spurs writer, Trevor Zickgraf, joins me this week and first up on our agenda we discuss Tony Parker's rank among NBA point guards. As a big Chris Paul fan, Trevor is reluctant to put TP as...

Depending upon your definition of ‘MVP’…take your pick. Rookie Watch: Damian Lillard will be the rookie of the year. Mark it down, dude. #1 Miami Heat 40-14 (Last Week- 2): Yes...

O’Neal, Suns defeat Spurs in return home

“I think overall we made a lot of mental errors,” said San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich after his number-one seeded Spurs fell to the team that ranked last in the Western Conference coming into Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns, 105-101 in overtime. Popovich said one of the Spurs’ biggest mental collapses came with 3.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Then, the...

Kings-Spurs Preview

After opening their six-game homestand with a stunning loss to one of the teams at the bottom of the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs likely won't take anything for granted when they face another.
