San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan's BlackJack Speed Shop is finally open for business and his teammate, Patty Mills, got his ride the BlackJack treatment. Mills took his VW R to TD's shop and got it customized. I am sure the team over at BlackJack took time and gave it their all to make Mills' ride look this great. You know, the same approach TD takes in the NBA. Check out Mills proudly showing off his newly customized car courtesy of BlackJack. (photo: BlackJack Speed Shop)

Pop raves about rookie De Colo

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has gotten the reputation from Spurs fans that he doesn't usually play rookies, especially with a veteran team around them. This year is different and this player isn't exactly a rookie either since he's played professional basketball overseas.  Nando De Colo has been described as "Manu Ginobili Jr." by some...

Even with Duncan’s big night, Spurs fall to Nuggets

31 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 blocks, 2 steals, 9-of-10 free throws, and just 2 turnovers in 40 minutes of play. The above numbers were produced by San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan on Wednesday in the Spurs’ 112-106 loss to the Denver Nuggets, just a day after the Spurs fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The first, second, and fourth quarters were all competitive...

The importance of Tiago Splitter's development

Tiago Splitter told reporters after Saturday's win over Boston that coach Gregg Popovich told him after the team's loss to Portland that'd he'd be starting next Tim Duncan vs. the Celtics.  Splitter played well, totaling 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in 28 minutes.  It remains unclear if Splitter will start past Monday night's loss in Oklahoma...

Some San Antonio Spurs fans were disappointed that they didn't see Kawhi Leonard against the Denver Nuggets last night and were fearing the injury could be much worse than expected. According to Marc Spears on Twitter, there's nothing to worry about Spurs fans: Spurs assign injured F Kawhi Leonard (knee, quad) to the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League for...

Utah's Williams doesn't want to be Spurs' 'step brother'

For years teams have been trying to be like the San Antonio Spurs. No team has been more consistent over the last 15 years, so why not? The Spurs have built a successful mold that other teams are going to try to copy, but in my opinion, no one has accomplished that goal yet. After hitting the game winner against the Spurs last week, Utah Jazz guard Mo Williams made reference to...

Video: David Robinson on '92 Dream Team, Tony Parker & more

Ever wondered just how intense practices were for the 1992 Olympic "Dream Team?" How much trash-talking was done between the legendary players? What did Christian Laettner have to go through? What about the loss to the college players for Team USA? Who were the leaders for such a star-studded team? How wild did Charles Barkley get? Fortunately. San Antonio Spurs legend...

Despite strong Nuggets performance, Ginobili says he has a ways to go

San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili returned from his quad injury last night against the Denver Nuggets, finishing with a strong performance of 16 points, six assists, six rebounds and two steals in a losing effort,  but it's clear the all-star guard has a ways to go before he's back to 100 percent. In an interview on elpatagonico.net, Ginobili, who has suffered his...

Kevin Durant Swats Josh Smith

In case you haven’t noticed, Kevin Durant is ridiculously good. His offense has always been there, but the rest of his game is what is beginning to really impress people. We just showed you his chase down block on James Anderson of the Spurs, so of course, he decided to follow it up with another impressive defensive display. If you still have some doubts about Durant’s ability...

Hornets-Spurs Preview

Another road-heavy stretch left the San Antonio Spurs weary and looking forward to one of their longest homestands of the season. They'll try to begin that stay by avoiding their longest losing streak in more than 20 months Friday night against the lowly New Orleans Hornets, losers of nine in a row. San Antonio (19-8) has played 12 of its last 16 games away from home, and that...

Celtics' Pierce comments on difficulty of defending Spurs

The days when the San Antonio Spurs had one dimensional players besides the "Big 3" of Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili are gone. The Spurs no longer rely on a simple pick and roll along with a Tim Duncan "4 Down" like they used to in a predictable offense. Now the Spurs have a whole team full of versatile players who can dribble, drive, kick the...
