Phil Jackson can do or say no wrong in the hearts and minds of many Los Angeles Lakers fans, and rightfully so, he brought five championships to the city so he gets a fair amount of rope. The former Lakers coach has always been one to keep it real, and he did so when he commented on the status of the franchise during a “Live Talks Los Angeles” event on Wednesday in Glendale. Jackson said he is trying to help his fiance and Lakers part owner Jeanie Buss, but things are pretty bad right now. “I’m trying to counsel her on ways the team can improve,” Jackson said. “They’re a mess. We know that because of their financial disorder right now, that’s the thing they have to get straight right away.” He also reiterated that returning to the league as a head coach is not in his future, simple because his body is up to the physical challenge. “Sometimes I feel I can still get out there and do it but the reality is I’m kidding myself,” Jackson said during Wednesday’s “Live Talks Los Angeles” event in Glendale, via Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times.   “When I was done I knew I was done—physically it was over,” he said. “It’s those long flights and three o’clock nights—getting up after five hours of sleep and going back to work, those are the things that wear you out.”
