As the month of January comes to a close, some players you wouldn't normally expect to be in rumor talks have had their names circulate. One of them is forward Elton Brand of the Sixers. Earlier this week, ESPN.com reporter Chad Ford had stated in a chat session that sources told him Brand was available via a trade. This was news to Brand, who talked to the media last night regarding the story.
"Anytime there's speculation, as you get closer to the deadline, that's when you know it's a business", said Brand of the potential trade talks. Sixers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski declined to speak on any rumors, but said he has not made any calls to anyone regarding trading the player he signed to a five-year, $79 million dollar deal last summer.READ THE REST HERE....
