Money-back guarantees are often reserved for things more tangible in nature, not a sporting event. However, the Phoenix Suns are offering their fans just that when they play host to the Dallas Mavericks next Thursday.Any Suns fan who buys a ticket and attends the game will get their money returned if they are not 100% satisfied with their experience. The offer is the first of its kind in the NBA and is valid regardless of whether or not the team wins. The move comes amid poor attendance levels in Phoenix as the club currently ranks 24th in the league at approximately 15,063 fans per game. Fans can take up the team on their promise when leaving the arena after Thursday's game, but I can only wonder how many folks will try and take advantage of the situation and ask for them money back anyway.Via USA Today.

Mike D’Antoni regrets leaving Suns for Knicks

Mike D’Antoni helped turn the Phoenix Suns into a championship contender before abruptly leaving for the New York Knicks after the 2008 season, and now the current Lakers coach says he regrets making the move. D’Antoni led the Suns to the playoffs four straight seasons. They even made back-to-back appearances in the Western Conference Finals, and I’ll argue if it weren’t...

Suns send 1st-round pick Marshall to D-League

First-round draft pick Kendall Marshall has been assigned to the D-League Bakersfield Jam by the Phoenix Suns, the team announced Thursday. The 13th overall pick from North Carolina, Marshall has struggled to earn playing time with the Suns. He is averaging 1.2 points and 5.7 minutes in six games. "I'm trying to look at it as a positive -- a time to get better, get reps...

Phoenix Suns Offer “Fun” Guarantee

With Steve Nash out of town, the Suns could use an attendance boost.credit: edwardandsons.com After losing Steve Nash this offseason, the Phoenix Suns must have figured that they would have to take a step back this season. They made some nice moves in the offseason, adding players like Goran Dragic, Luis Scola, and Michael Beasley, but nobody really expects much of them. At 7-9,...

D'Antoni regrets leaving Phoenix

Mike D’Antoni was never able to get over the hump with the Phoenix Suns. He had a few teams that looked like they could win a championship, but his offensive mindset never translated to a title. When he left Phoenix for the bright lights of New York, with the talent the Knicks had, it looked like D’Antoni might have the chance to be successful there. But things were much...

The Phoenix Suns are guaranteeing fans will have a good time at the game against the Dallas Mavericks. The Suns say anyone who buys a ticket and attends Thursday night's game will have their money returned if they are not completely satisfied with their experience, regardless of whether the team wins or loses. The Suns say the offer is the first of its kind in the NBA. Attendance...

Suns offer “good game, or money back” guarantee

The Phoenix Suns are officially running one of the most intriguing promotions ever, promising a money back guarantee to fans who don't enjoy the experience.  The promotion is due to take place Thursday December 6th against the visiting Dallas Mavericks.  The Suns are guaranteeing the always subjective "good time" to their fans, allowing them to mail in a ticket stub...

Goran’s benching is Dragic!

Another day, another fantasy basketball casualty in Phoenix. This time Goran Dragic, fantasy basketball point guard extraordinaire, was benched for the second half of the Suns’ embarrassing blow out loss in Detroit last night. Instead, P.J. Tucker got 26 minutes of burn from Alvin Gentry. Hey, why not, right? If Alvin is going to go down he may as well go down playing P.J. Tucker...

Mike D’Antoni Regrets Leaving Suns for Knicks

Mike D’Antoni left the Phoenix Suns at the conclusion of the 2007-08 season, moving to a far bigger market and a far bigger challenge in the New York Knicks. Though D’Antoni had taken the Suns to two Western Conference Championship series, his teams had never appeared in an NBA Finals, and although he led the Knicks to the playoffs in the 2010-11 season, they were swept in the...

Suns-Raptors Preview

After their six-game road trip took an embarrassing turn, the Phoenix Suns could have an ideal opportunity for redemption Friday night. They will be visiting a city where they've dominated in recent years and facing one of the league's worst teams in a matchup with the sliding Toronto Raptors. Phoenix (7-9) had won three of four and split the first two games on this trip...

Suns promise satisfaction ... or money back

Think of the Phoenix Suns latest (not to mention sensationally compelling) promotion as something of a test drive for local basketball fans. The title is Satisfaction Guaranteed Night which without prior knowledge of the subject matter in question might sound a smidge like the working title for a Rolling Stones tour. But were simply dealing with a little relatively harmless professional...
