- Even though Goran Dragic was the best player on the Phoenix Suns last season, they would be wise to trade him. The 27 year old point guard had a career season last year and was first on the team in points (14.7 per game), assists (7.4 per game) and steals (1.6 per game), but yes they should still trade him. Why? Simple, they are a rebuilding team and they have just landed Eric Bledsoe, one of the brightest young players in the game and a potential star.
This is a team that is completely rebuilding and although Dragic is a solid player, he is no franchise cornerstone and now that they have Eric Bledsoe, they have their point guard of the future. The 23 year old is an elite athlete, defender and a very talented scorer, rebounder and distributor, with All Star potential. He has incredible upside and with more playing time, he should flourish. Channing Frye missed all of the 2012-2013 NBA season due to an enlarged heart and he hasn’t been cleared yet to play this season but the Phoenix Suns are optimistic that will happen. Frye has been undergoing tests and both sides should know within three to four weeks on whether or not he’ll be allowed to play. Conveniently it would be right in time for training camp.
The Phoenix Suns have stated their optimism about the playing status of Channing Frye, who missed last season due to an enlarged heart.
The Suns should learn in a few weeks if Frye will be able to return next season.
"We're optimistic he'll be able to play," Suns GM Ryan McDonough said.
The Phoenix Suns signed Alex Len, who the team selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Len is a 7-foot-1, 255-pound athletic center, who finished a two-year career in College Park, Maryland, with an Honorable Mention All-ACC season in which he was also named to the All-ACC Defensive team.
