It was definitely awesome to see that Michael Jordan was ready to hoop at the event though he just came off an NBA Finals trip. A report by Aidan Bea of The University Star revealed that Michael Jordan was at Texas State "for a basketball camp" and ended up participating in a "celebrity charity game".

On June 22, 1998, a little over a week after a 45-point performance and game-winning shot to win his sixth NBA championship, Jordan visited Texas State for a basketball camp and participated in a celebrity charity game.

The event raised funds for Let Me Play, a charity encouraging and enabling children to get involved with athletics, organized by Jordan’s longtime friend, and former NFL wide receiver, Eric Martin.

Olympic gold medalist and Texas State alumnus Charles Austin, Martin’s cousin, convinced Martin to host the event at what was then Southwest Texas State University.

Other noteworthy participants included NBA legends George “Iceman” Gervin, Michael Finley, Erick Strickland, the late broadcaster Stuart Scott and Texas State alumnus Jeff Foster.

This was clearly a good gesture by Michael Jordan, and it is mentioned that "the event raised funds for Let Me Play" which is "a charity encouraging and enabling children to get involved with athletics". Off the court, Michael Jordan is known for supporting great causes, and he even donated $2M in proceeds from The Last Dance to food banks across the country.

We haven't seen many images of Michael Jordan playing basketball recently, but it would definitely be good to see him on the court again, even though he is older. There is no doubt that Michael Jordan was an extreme talent, and he was mesmerizing to watch.
